MEKANISME PERTAHANAN DIRI TOKOH KINO DALAM MENGATASI KECEMASAN PADA CERPEN KINO KARYA MURAKAMI HARUKI: ANALISIS PSIKOLOGI SASTRA

Penelitian ini menggunakan objek material cerpen Kino karya Murakami Haruki yang terdapat di dalam kumpulan cerpen Onna no inai Otokotachi. Di dalam cerita, tokoh utama Kino memutuskan untuk membuka bar setelah melihat langsung perselingkuhan yang dilakukan oleh istri dan teman kerjanya. Sikap Kino yang menunjukkan ketidakpedulian terhadap perselingkuhan tersebut tanpa sadar membuatnya mengalami kecemasan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meneliti bentuk-bentuk mekanisme pertahanan diri yang digunakan oleh tokoh Kino dalam menghadapi kecemasannya tersebut menggunkan teori psikologi kepribadian Sigmund Freud. Sebelum sampai pada analisis psikologi tokoh Kino, penulis terlebih dahulu akan menganalisis cerpen ini menggunakan teori struktural. Teori struktural digunakan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara unsur intrinsik di dalam cerpen, sehingga memudahkan penulis dalam memahami cerita. Unsur intrinsik tersebut berupa tema, latar, tokoh dan penokohan. Setelah itu baru dilanjutkan dengan penelitan psikologi, dengan melakukan penelitian struktur kepribadian berupa id, ego, dan superego tokoh Kino guna mengetahui kecemasan yang dialaminya. Dan terakhir adalah analisis tentang bentuk-bentuk mekanisme pertahanan tokoh Kino dalam menghadapi kecemasannya. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa id, ego, dan superego tokoh Kino berjalan tidak seimbang. Hal ini menyebabkan timbulnya kecemasan dalam diri tokoh Kino, sehingga ego membentuk mekanisme pertahanan diri. Mekanisme pertahanan diri yang digunakan oleh tokoh Kino adalah represi, reaksi formasi, apatis, sublimasi, proyeksi, rasionalisasi, dan fantasi. Hal tersebut dimunculkan oleh ego untuk mengurangi kecemasan yang dialaminya.

This research uses Kino short story by Murakami Haruki that contained in the Onna no inai Otokotachi short story collection as material object. In the story, the main character Kino decided to open the bar after he caught his wife having an affair with his co-worker. His attitude that seemed unconcerned with the affair unknowingly made him experience anxiety. The purpose of this research is to examine the forms of self defense mechanisms used by the main character Kino in dealing with his anxiety using the personality of psychology theory of Sigmund Freud. Before doing psychological analysis, author first analyzes this short story with structural theory. The structural theory is used to analyze the intrinsic elements of the short story and their interrelation to help further understanding of the story. Those intrinsic elements are theme, settings, and characterization. After that, it will be continued with psychological analysis, by analyzing the personality structure of Kino character in the form of id, ego, and superego in order to find out the anxiety that he experienced. And the last is an analysis of the forms of defense mechanisms of Kino in dealing with their anxiety. The results of this research showed that id, ego, and superego of Kino were running out of balance. This led to the emergence of anxiety within Kino, and consequently the ego forming a defense mechanism. Defense mechanism used is a repression, reaction formation, apathetic, sublimation, projection, rationalization, and fantasy. It is raised by the ego to reduce his anxiety.
