Industri pariwisata sangat berhubungan dengan hotel, karena hotel menyediakan jasa akomodasi dan restorasi yang sangat diperlukan oleh tamu yang mengadakan perjalanan wisata atau bisnis. Sebuah hotel memiliki beberapa departemen, salah satunya adalah Housekeeping Departement khususnya Divisi Public Area. Tugas akhir ini disusun dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif yaitu mendiskripsikan upaya yang dilakukan Divisi Public Area dalam menciptakan kenyamanan tamu. Tekhnik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adala metode observasi dengan melakukan kerja praktek dan pengamatan tentang semua peran kegiatan pada Housekeeping Department di Hotel Ibis Malioboro, selama tiga bulan. Tujuan penulisan tugas akhir ini adalah untuk mengetahui peranan dan tanggung jawab Housekeeping Department dalam menciptakan kenyamanan tamu yaitu dengan memberikan pelayanan maksimal, ramah, tanggung jawab, jujur dan profesionalisme kerja.

The tourism industry is closely connected with the hotel, as the hotel provides accommodation and restoration services that are needed by guests who travel or business travel. A hotel has several departments, one of which is the Housekeeping Department Division of Public Areas in particular. The final task is prepared using qualitative descriptive approach is to describe the efforts of the Division of Public Areas in creating guest comfort. Data collection techniques used Adala observation method to perform practical work and observation of all activities on the role of Housekeeping Department at Hotel Ibis Malioboro, for three months. The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the role and responsibilities of the housekeeping department in creating the comfort of guests is to provide maximum service, friendly, responsibility, honesty and professionalism.
