Analisis Perkembangan Kepribadian Tokoh Utama dalam Drama Korea Doom at Your Service (Eoneu Nal Uri Jib Hyeongwaneuro Myeolmangi Deureowatda): Kajian Psikologi Sastra

Penelitian ini menganalisis perkembangan kepribadian tokoh utama, Tak Dong-Kyung, dalam drama Korea Doom At Your Service (?? ? ?? ? ???? ??? ????) melalui pendekatan psikologi sastra. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengungkapkan perkembangan kepribadian tokoh utama sepanjang cerita dan mendeskripsikan peristiwa-peristiwa yang menjadi bukti terjadinya perkembangan tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori psikoanalisis Sigmund Freud, khususnya struktur kepribadian Id, Ego, dan Superego, sebagaimana dijelaskan dalam The Ego and the Id (1926).

Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa pada tahap awal, tokoh utama berada di bawah dominasi Id yang ditandai oleh perilaku impulsif, penghindaran realitas, dan keinginan destruktif sebagai respons terhadap diagnosis penyakit glioblastoma. Seiring perkembangan cerita, Ego mulai berkonflik dengan Superego. Pemicu utama perkembangan kepribadian tokoh utama ini adalah hubungan emosional yang intens dengan Myeol-Mang serta keterlibatannya dalam dinamika sosial bersama keluarga dan sahabat, yang menantangnya untuk menghadapi kenyataan hidup dan memahami makna penderitaan. Puncaknya, tokoh utama menunjukkan kematangan psikologis dengan menerima kenyataan hidup secara rasional dan penuh kesadaran, serta menyeimbangkan dorongan emosional dengan nilai-nilai moral.

Perjalanan perkembangan kepribadian tidak bersifat linear, melainkan melalui proses dinamis yang mencakup fase penolakan, penerimaan, dan kesadaran diri. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perkembangan kepribadian tokoh utama sesuai dengan struktur psikoanalisis Freud dan membuktikan bahwa pendekatan psikologi sastra mampu memberikan pemahaman mendalam terhadap dinamika kepribadian dalam karya sastra. Temuan ini memperluas cakupan interpretasi terhadap drama Korea modern dari perspektif psikologis yang reflektif dan kritis. 

This study analyze the personality development of the main character, Tak Dong-Kyung, in the Korean drama Doom At Your Service (?? ? ?? ? ???? ??? ????) through a literary psychology approach. The objective is to reveal the progression of the protagonist’s personality throughout the story and describe the events that serve as evidence of this development. The theoretical framework is based on Sigmund Freud’s psychoanalytic theory, particularly the structure of personality, consisting of the id, ego, and superego, as elaborated in "The Ego and the Id."

The analysis reveals that at the beginning of the story, the protagonist is dominated by the id, as evidenced by impulsive behavior, reality avoidance, and destructive desires in response to a terminal illness diagnosis. As the plot progresses, internal conflict between the ego and superego emerges. Her relationship with Myeol-Mang, along with emotional interactions with family and friends, acts as a key trigger in her personality development, challenging her to face the reality of life and the meaning of suffering. Ultimately, the character achieves psychological maturity by accepting her reality rationally and consciously, striking a balance between emotional drives and moral values. The personality development process does not follow a linear trajectory but instead unfolds dynamically through phases of denial, acceptance, and self-awareness.

This study demonstrates that the main character’s personality evolution aligns with Freud's psychoanalytic framework and affirms the effectiveness of literary psychology in uncovering deep personality dynamics in narrative works. The findings also expand the interpretive scope of modern Korean drama through a reflective and critical psychological lens.
