ANALISIS POSFEMINISME TERHADAP FILM OOOKU: THE LADY SHOUGUN AND HER MEN (2010)

Penelitian ini mengkaji nilai-nilai posfeminisme dalam film Oooku: The Lady Shougun And Her Men. Penulis mengaplikasikan tiga daftar konseptual posfeminisme yang dirumuskan oleh Ann Brooks (2008) yaitu identitas, perbedaan, dan dekonstruksi untuk mengungkap relasi interpretasi antara reversed gender roles dalam film Oooku: The Lady Shougun and Her Men dengan realitas historis di Jepang pada era Shoutoku. Tiga rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini yaitu: (1) Bagaimana identitas laki-laki dan perempuan digambarkan dalam film Oooku: The Lady Shougun and Her Men? (2) Bagaimana perbedaan maskulinitas dan femininitas digambarkan dalam film Oooku: The Lady Shougun and Her Men? (3) Bagaimana dekonstruksi gender digambarkan dalam film Oooku: The Lady Shougun and Her Men? Menurut hasil analisis, Oooku: The Lady Shougun and Her Men adalah film yang merepresentasikan nilai posfeminisme. Berdasarkan hasil komparasi antara konstruksi gender yang diusung oleh feminisme dan dekonstruksi gender yang diusung posfeminisme ditemukan bahwa film ini memiliki relasi interpretasi yang inversif dengan fakta empiris. Film ini menampilkan representasi terbalik atas realitas historis pada masa itu untuk mengkritik dan menantang patriarki Jepang yang mengakar kuat di masyarakat.

This research aims to analyze post-feminist values in Fuminori Kaneko's Oooku: The Lady Shougun and Her Men movie. This thesis employs Ann Brooks's (2008) theory of three conceptual list of post-feminism: identity, difference and deconstruction. This study attempts to unveil the interpretative relations in the film's reversed gender roles and depict historical reality in Japan in the Shoutoku era. Three research questions are posed here: (1) How are men and women's identity portrayed in Oooku: The Lady Shougun and Her Men? (2) How is masculinity and femininity's difference portrayed in Oooku: The Lady Shougun and Her Men? (3) How is gender deconstruction represented in Oooku: The Lady Shougun and Her Men? This research considers Oooku: The Lady Shougun and Her Men as a movie that represents post-feminist values. Based on the result of comparison between gender construction carried by feminism and gender deconstruction carried by post-feminism, this study finds that this movie has an inverse interpretative relation with empirical facts. This movie depicts the reversed representation of historical reality in that era to criticize and challenge Japan's deeply rooted patriarchy in society.
