HOMOSEKSUALITAS DALAM CERPEN NIBE MO NAKU YORUBE MO NAKU KARYA SHIGEAKI KATO: ANALISIS SOSIOLOGI SASTRA IAN WATT

Skripsi ini merupakan hasil penelitian terhadap cerpen Nibe mo Naku Yorube mo Naku karya Shigeaki Kato dengan menggunakan teori sosiologi sastra Ian Watt. Cerpen ini bercerita tentang seorang remaja dari sebuah kota kecil yang mendapati bahwa sahabatnya adalah seorang homoseksual.Teori sosiologi sastra Ian Watt merupakan salah satu displin ilmu yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana konteks sosial pengarang mempengaruhi penciptaan cerpen, sejauh mana cerpen mencerminkan realita sosial, dan untuk mengetahui fungsi sosial cerpen. Dalam penelitian ini, akan dianalisis sejauh mana konteks sosial Shigeaki Kato mempengaruhi penciptaan cerpen Nibe mo Naku Yorube mo Naku, sejauh mana cerpen Nibe mo Naku Yorube mo Naku mencerminkan masalah yang dihadapi kaum homoseksual dalam masyarakat Jepang pada sekitar awal tahun 2000-an, dan sejauh mana cerpen Nibe mo Naku Yorube mo Naku dapat berfungsi sebagai pengajar, penghibur maupun keduanya bagi masyarakat pembaca. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa konteks sosial pengarang, khususnya latar belakang keluarga dan profesionalisme pengarang mempengaruhi penciptaan cerpen. Permasalahan sosial yang terdapat dalam cerpen Nibe mo Naku Yorube mo Naku mencerminkan permasalahan sosial yang dialami kaum LGBT dalam masyarakat Jepang khususnya pada sekitar awal tahun 2000-an. Cerpen Nibe mo Naku Yorube mo Naku memiliki fungsi sosial sebagai pengajar bagi masyarakat yang bersifat menghibur.

This thesis is a research result for a short story titled Nibe mo Naku Yorube mo Naku through Ian Watt's perspective of literary sociology. This story is about an adolescent boy who just found out that his childhood best friend is a homosexual. Ian Watt's perspective of literary sociology is emphasizing on finding how the author's social context was affecting in the creating of the story, to find how the story is a reflection of social reality as a background, and to find the social functions of this story. This analysis will be done through Ian Watt's perspective of literary sociology to find how Shigeaki Kato's social context as the author affecting in the creation of Nibe mo Naku Yorube mo Naku, how Nibe mo Naku Yorube mo Naku reflects social problems experienced by the LGBT community in Japan around early 2000s, and to find the social function of Nibe mo Naku Yorube mo Naku as an educator, entertainment, or both for the readers. The result of this analysis shows that social context of the author especially his family background and professionalism has affected in the writing of the story. Social problems which had occurred in the story also reflected social problems experienced by the LGBT community in Japan around early 2000s. Nibe mo Naku Yorube mo Naku also has social functions as an educator for society with an entertaining way of telling.
