Transformasi Novel Dugeun Dugeun Nae Insaeng Karya Kim Aeran ke dalam Bentuk Film Karya E J-Yong Kajian Ekranisasi

Penelitian ini membahas novel berjudul Dugeun Dugeun Nae Insaeng karya Kim Aeran (2011) dan film dengan judul sama yang diadaptasi oleh E J-Yong (2014). Karya ini mengisahkan tentang seorang anak yang menderita progeria. Dalam proses adaptasi novel menjadi film, terjadi perubahan yang membuat dua karya menjadi berbeda. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan struktur cerita antara novel dan film, serta mengungkapkan bentuk transformasi yang berupa penciutan, penambahan, dan perubahan variasi antara novel dan film. Analisis dilakukan dengan menjabarkan struktur cerita kedua karya berdasarkan teori struktural Robert Stanton (1965) dan membandingkan struktur cerita kedua karya berdasarkan teori ekranisasi Pamusuk Eneste (1991). Hasil analisis ekranisasi menunjukkan bahwa antara novel dan film memiliki perbedaan dalam beberapa struktur cerita. Ketika novel dibuat menjadi film, terjadi penciutan pada alur, tokoh, dan latar tempat. Penciutan pada alur meliputi adegan ayah Choi Mira, adegan Han Ahreum membaca buku, alasan Choi Mira menyukai Han Daesu, dan pernyataan Choi Mira yang tidak menyukai kakek Jang. Penciutan pada tokoh berupa penghilangan tokoh Han Sumi dan kakak Choi Mira. Latar tempat yang mengalami penciutan adalah ruang kelas. Ada pula penambahan alur, tokoh, dan latar tempat pada film. Penambahan pada alur meliputi penghinaan terhadap fisik Han Ahreum dan kemarahan Han Daesu terhadap sutradara. Tokoh-tokoh yang ditambahkan pada film, yaitu ayah Han Daesu dan SNSD. Selain itu, tokoh Han Daesu juga mengalami penambahan pada pekerjaannya. Beberapa latar tempat yang ditambahkan di antaranya adalah tengah kota, rumah sutradara, dan rumah ayah Han Daesu. Selain penciutan dan penambahan, juga ada perubahan variasi pada tokoh dan latar tempat. Perubahan pada tokoh terjadi pada usia para tokoh utama, pekerjaan Han Daesu dan Choi Mira, pendidikan Han Ahreum, tokoh tetangga wanita dalam novel yang bertransformasi menjadi tokoh wanita di rumah sakit dalam film, dan perubahan tokoh penyanyi idola Han Daesu dan Han Ahreum. Latar tempat yang mengalami perubahan meliputi tempat pertemuan Han Daesu dan Choi Mira, tempat sebelum Han Ahreum meninggal, dan tempat Seungchan bertanya kepada Han Ahreum. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, kesimpulan yang didapatkan dalam penelitian ini adalah film tidak seluruhnya berorientasi pada karya asli, sehingga terdapat beberapa perbedaan. Kedua karya ini tidak mengalami transformasi pada nama tokoh dan perannya, tetapi mengalami perubahan pada struktur lainnya seperti alur dan latar. Walaupun terlihat sama, namun jika diteliti lebih mendalam menggunakan kajian ekranisasi, terlihat perbedaan yang cukup signifikan.

This study discusses Dugeun Dugeun Nae Insaeng--a novel by Kim Aeran (2011) and a movie with the same title directed by E J-Yong (2014). This work tells about a child suffering from progeria. In the process of adapting a novel to a movie, there are changes that make two works different. The purposes of this study are to describe the different structures of the story boh in the novel and movie; to reveal the forms of transformation (the varied ways of removing, adding, and changing the contents of novel when translated into the movie). The analysis is carried out by describing the structures of the two works based on structural theory by Robert Stanton (1965) and by comparing the structures of the two works based on ecranization theory by Pamusuk Eneste (1991). The analysis indicates that the novel and movie have differences in several structures. When this novel is made into a film, there are removals of some plotlines, characters, and place settings. The removals of some plotlines include the scenes depicting Choi Mira's father, the scene portraying Han Ahreum reading a book, the scene depicting the reason why Choi Mira likes Han Daesu, and the scene portraying Choi Mira's statement that she does not like Jang grandfather. The removals of the characters are obviously present in the form of the disappearance of Han Sumi and Choi Mira's brother. As for the place setting, the classroom is removed. In terms of additions of plot, there are plots that include humiliation of Han Ahreum's physicality and Han Daesu's anger; and plots about Han Daesu's father and SNSD--which are non present in the novel. As for the the place settings, the city center, the director's house, and the house of Han Daesu's father are added. Beside removal and addition, there are also changes to the characters and settings of the place. Changes to the characters are presented at the ages of the main characters; the workplaces of Han Daesu and Choi Mira; the education of Han Ahreum; the identity of a female neighbor in the novel being transformed into a female hospital worker; and the names of Han Daesu and Han Ahreum's favorite singer. As for the place setting, the meeting place of Han Daesu and Choi Mira; the place before Han Ahreum died; and the place where Seungchan asked Han Ahreum are all changed. Based on the analysis, it is clear that this particular movie is not entirely adapted or based on the original work which resulted in some differences. However, it is important to note that both works do not change the names of character and their roles, but they do make changes in structures such as plots and settings. Even though they look similar in tone, once deeply analyzed, they showcase significant differences between the novel and the movie.
