FAKTA-FAKTA CERITA DAN TEMA DALAM NOVEL KAPAK KARYA DEWI LINGGASARI: ANALISIS STRUKTUR NOVEL MODEL STANTON

Objek material dalam penelitian ini adalah novel Kapak karya Dewi Linggasari. Objek formal dalam penelitian ini adalah teori struktur novel Robert Stanton. Penelitian ini akan menjawab tiga rumusan masalah. Pertama, menjawab fakta-fakta cerita yang meliputi alur, tokoh dan penokohan, serta latar dalam novel Kapak. Kedua, menjawab tema yang mendasari cerita dalam novel Kapak. Ketiga, menjawab hubungan antarunsur (fakta-fakta cerita dan tema) novel Kapak. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa alur dalam novel ini ialah alur maju. Hal ini terlihat dari peristiwa satu dengan peristiwa lainnya. Pergerakan alur dalam novel ini dipengaruhi oleh latar terjadinya peristiwa dan interaksi antartokoh. Tokoh-tokoh dalam Kapak dibedakan menjadi tokoh utama dan tokoh bawahan. Tokoh utama dalam novel ini adalah Mika dan Mundus. Tokoh bawahan dalam novel ini adalah Jirimo, Bunapi, Donatus, Yowero, Ero, Berti, Arben, dan Dokter Astrid. Kehadiran tokoh bawahan dapat memperkuat karakter tokoh utama. Tokoh bawahan juga dapat membuat ketegangan dalam cerita. Dapat ditemukan tema novel Kapak adalah kapak sebagai hasil kebudayaan manusia menyimbolkan media kekerasan manusia atas manusia yang lain. Dengan melakukan analisis struktural pada novel Kapak maka dapat ditemukan adanya unsur-unsur yang saling berhubungan membentuk kesatuan dalam cerita.

The material object of this research is a novel entitled Kapak by Dewi Linggasari. The formal object of this research is theory of novels structure by Robert Stanton. This research to aims to answer three research questions. First, to find out the facts of the story which comprised of plot, characters, and setting. Second, to find out the underlying themes of the story. Three, to find out the relationship between elements in the novel Kapak. The results of this research showed the plot was told in a forward stroyline. It could be concluded from the flow of one event to another in te story. The flow of storyline in this novel is influenced by background of event and interaction between characters. Characters in Kapak is divied main characters and additional characters. The main characters in this novel are Mika and Mundus. the additional characters in this novel are Jirimo, Bunapi, Donatus, Yowero, Ero, Berti, Arben, and Dokter Astrid. The presence of additional characters can strengthen the main character. The additional characters can also create suspense in the story. Could be found the theme of this novel is axe as a human culture symbolizes men�¢ï¿½ï¿½s violence tool upon another men. From structural analysis, could be concluded that the elements in this novel are coherently interrelated, thus creating an integrated story
