ANALISIS PENILAIAN FASILITAS PEDESTRIAN DI KAWASAN PERKOTAAN (KASUS: JALAN MALIOBORO HINGGA JALAN MARGO MULYO, YOGYAKARTA)

Keberagaman fungsi Kawasan Malioboro harus dapat memperhatikan semua aspek kepentingan, termasuk kepentingan pedestrian. Tingginya intensitas pedestrian yang berkunjung ke Kawasan Malioboro harus diimbangi dengan ketersediaan fasilitas pedestrian yang memadai dan mudah diakses. Penelitian ini bertujuan: 1. Mengidentifikasi karakteristik pedestrian dan 2. Mengidentifikasi kebutuhan dan ketersediaan fasilitas pedestrian di lokasi kajian. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif, yakni menganalisis karakteristik dan fasilitas pedestrian dengan mendeskripsikan data hasil observasi, kuesioner, dokumentasi, serta didukung dengan literatur dan dokumen resmi pemerintah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ruang pedestrian di lokasi kajian didominasi oleh penduduk non lokal Kota Yogyakarta yang berstatus sebagai mahasiswa dan memiliki aktivitas utama untuk belanja. Kunjungan pedestrian mencapai puncaknya saat weekend dan mayoritas menggunakan sepeda motor menuju kawasan ini. Kondisi fasilitas pedestrian di kedua ruas Jalan Malioboro hingga Jalan Margo Mulyo sebagian besar memenuhi standar dari segi desainnya, namun dari segi ketersediaan dan fungsinya belum memadai sehingga belum memenuhi kebutuhan pedestrian.

The variety function of Malioboro should be able to meet all importance aspect, including pedestrian as one of the important aspect. If we are looking to the high intensity of pedestrian in Malioboro, sufficient and accessible of facility should be meet the pedestrian's need. This research aims: 1. To identify the pedestrian characteristic and 2. To identify the pedestrian's need and its availability in study location. The method used is descriptive qualitative, namely analyze the pedestrian's facilities and its characteristics by described observations data, questionnaire, documentation and supported by literature and government official documents. The results showed that the pedestrian in Malioboro is dominated by non-local citizen of Yogyakarta City, most of them is college students and mainly come to shopping. Weekend is the peak visiting time in Malioboro and most visitor use motorcycles. In terms of design, pedestrian facilities on both side of Malioboro Street to Margo Mulyo Street are meet the standards, but in terms of the availability and function have not sufficient to meet the pedestrian's need.
