ABSTRAK PERSAMAAN DAN PERBEDAAN PROSES SEMIOSIS DALAM DUA CERITA ANAK A SONG FOR CAMBODIA DAN HALF SPOON OF RICE Yanuaresti Kusuma Wardhani Penelitian ini memaparkan bagaimana adanya proses semiosis di dalam dua karya sastra. Dari proses semiosis yang terjadi pada keduanya lalu dicarilah persamaan dan perbedaannya. Objek material dari penelitian ini berasal dari dua cerita anak bergambar, A Song for Cambodia dan Half Spoon of Rice. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori semiotika C.S. Peirce yang mengedepankan proses semiosis pada relasi antar tanda. Proses semiosis tersebut berasal dari tanda yang terbagi lagi menjadi tiga tipologi tanda yaitu representamen, objek dan interpretan. Relasi antar representamen dan objek menghasilkan tanda baru yang berupa indeks, simbol dan ikon. Interpretan adalah konsep pemikiran seseorang yang menafsirkan sebuah tanda sebelum manjadi tanda baru. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan proses semiosis yang terjadi pada dua cerita. Setelah analisis tentang proses semiosis dilakukan, ditemukanlah persamaan proses semiosis dari keduanya. Persamaan-persamaan yang ada tersebut lalu mengarah pada perbedaan-perbedaan yang lantas muncul. Persamaan proses semiosis terjadi karena adanya persamaan objek yang diacu oleh representamen. Sedangkan perbedaan proses semiosis disebabkan karena adanya perbedaan representamen yang mengacu pada objek yang sama tadi. Kata kunci: semiosis, representamen, objek, persamaan, perbedaan

ABSTRACT THE SIMILARITIES AND DIFFERENCES OF SEMIOSIS PROCESS IN TWO CHILDREN STORIES A SONG FOR CAMBODIA AND HALF SPOON OF RICE Yanuaresti Kusuma Wardhani This study describes how the process of semiosis in the two literary works. Of semiosis process that occurs in both the similarities and the differences were sought. Material object of this study came from two illustrated children's stories, A Song for Cambodia and Half Spoon of Rice. This study uses the theory of semiotics C.S. Peirce semiosis process that emphasizes the relation between the signs. Semiosis process is derived from the sign which is divided into three typologies sign that representamen, objects and interpretan. Representamen and relationships between objects generate a new form of indices, symbols and icons. Interpretan is someone who interprets the concept of thinking before becoming sign a new sign. These results indicate that the process of semiosis occur in two stories. After analyzing the semiosis process, the similarities of both semiosis process are found. The similarities are then led to the differences that then . Equation semiosis process occurs because of the similarity of the object referenced by representamen.
