Penulis membuat tema deskripsi ini karena ingin lebih memahami dan mengerti tentang perjanjian perdamaian dalam perkara perselisihan hubungan industrial. Salah satu syarat kelulusan pada Program Studi Diploma 3 Hukum dan syarat sebelum mahasiswa melakukan wisuda yaitu dengan mengikuti Praktik Kerja Lapangan (PKL). Praktik Kerja Lapangan sangatlah berguna bagi mahasiswa, baik dari segi pengetahuan maupun mentalitas. Karena, Praktik Kerja Lapangan ini berguna sebagai pelatihan dan pendalaman ilmu bagi para mahasiswa Diploma 3 Hukum dalam melihat serta menerapkan ilmu yang telah dia dapatkan ke keadaan lapangan yang sebenarnya. Tempat Praktik Kerja Lapangan yang penulis pilih adalah sebuah kantor advokat. Penulis memilih tema kasus perjanjian perdamaian dalam perkara perselisihan hubungan industrial karena jarang sekali terlihat oleh publik. Masyarakat hanya lebih mengetahui tentang Pidana seperti Tindak Pidana Korupsi, Pembunuhan, dan sebagainya. Perjanjian Perdamaian dalam perkara perselisihan hubungan industrial tidak lepas dari peran seorang advokat. Seorang advokat mempunya kewenangan untuk mendampingi klien di lingkungan peradilan manapun, termasuk Pengadilan Hubungan Industrial. Kasus yang terjadi adalah seorang Pemutusan Hubungan Kerja antara PT. Global Intermedia Nusantara dengan salah satu pekerjanya yaitu Dhoan Marendra Evridho yang terakhir bekerja sebagai marketing.
