PANDANGAN DUNIA SENO GUMIRA AJIDARMA DALAM NOVEL JAZZ, PARFUM, DAN INSIDEN: ANALISIS STRUKTURALISME GENETIK

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi adanya kritik sosial yang diekspresikan Seno Gumira Ajidarma (Seno) dalam novel Jazz, Parfum, dan Insiden(JPI). Novel ini menggambarkan kekerasan dan pengekangan kebebasan yang terjadi dalam kehidupan tokoh "Aku". Di samping itu, dalam novel JPI, Seno memadukan fakta-fakta historis yang dapat memberikan konteks karya sastra ini. Untuk itu, penelitian ini bertujuan mengungkapkan struktur novel JPI, pandangan dunia pengarang dalam novel JPI, dan struktur sosial yang menjadi konteks. Melalui pembahasan tersebut diharapkan mampu mengungkapkan makna totalitas dari teks JPI sehingga memberikan kebaruan dalam penelitian ini. Sesuai dengan tujuannya, teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori strukturalisme genetik. Dengan teori tersebut penelitian ini akan menghasilkan pandangan dunia yang diekspresikan pengarang melalui karya sastranya. Pandangan dunia ini menjadi konsep kunci yang menghubungan karya sastra dengan realitas sosial. Sementara itu, penelitian ini mengaplikasikan metode dialektik. Metode tersebut memandang teks sebagai titik awal dan titik akhir dalam penelitian ini sehingga tercapai pemaknaan teks yang koheren. Hasil penelitian ini memperlihatkan relasi tokoh "Aku" dengan objek dan tokoh lain di sekitarnya berada dalam kondisi terdegradasi. Melalui relasi tersebut, ia menjalani totalitas hidup karena kondisi degradasi menjadi upayanya dalam menemukan nilai-nilai otentik berupa persamaan hak dan kebebasan. Nilai otentik tersebut merupakan substansi ideologi demokratisme yang diekspresikan pengarang. Pandangan demokratisme ini mendasari pemikiran Seno Gumira Ajidarma sebagai kelas menengah untuk memperjuangkan kebebasan berpendapat masyarakat yang terbelenggu.

This study based on presence of social criticism which expressed by Seno Gumira Ajidarma (Seno) in Jazz, Parfum, dan Insiden (JPI). The novel depicts violence and repression that occure in the life of "I" character. Beside that in JPI, Seno integrates historical facts that could give the context of this novel. Therefor, this study aims to reveal structure of JPI, author's view in JPI, and social structure which became the context of world view. Through these analysis it is expected to reveal the text totality of meaning of JPI so that could give the newness in this study. Due to those purposes, the theory used in this study is genetic structuralism theory. By this theory, the study will produce the world view which expressed by author through the literature work. The world view become key concept that connect the literature work with social reality. Meanwhile, this study applies dialectical method. The method observes text as starting point and end point in this study so that the meanings of the text become coherent. The result of this study indicates the relation of "I" character with objects and people around him is in a degrading situation. Through that relation, he goes through the wholeness of his life because the degrading situation has become his effort in finding authentic values i.e. equality of right and freedom. Those authentic values are principal concept of democratism which is expressed by the author. This democratism view underlies Seno Gumira Ajidarma as middle class to fight for freedom of speech.
