The energy sector plays a strategic role in Indonesia’s economy. However, its operational activities also generate significant social and environmental impacts, necessitating the effective implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Good Corporate Governance (GCG) by companies. This study aims to analyze the impact of CSR and GCG on the financial performance of energy sector companies listen on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the 2022-2025 period. CSR is measured using the GRI Universal Standards 2021, while GCG is proxied by managerial ownership, institutional ownership, and the independent board of commissioners. Financial performance is proxied by Return on Assets (ROA), with the Debt-to-Asset Ratio (DAR) serving as a control variable. The study employs a quantitative approach using secondary data obtained from companies’ financial statements, annual reports, and sustainability reports. The sample consists of 30 companies (120 observations) selected via purposive sampling and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The research results indicate that the four research hypotheses (H1, H2, H3, and H4) are not supported. CSR disclosure and institutional ownership have no effect on ROA, whereas managerial ownership and the independent board of commissioners have a significant negative effect on ROA. These findings suggest that neither CSR implementation nor GCG mechanisms have yet been fully capable of enhancing the financial performance of energy sector companies during the study period; consequently, the effectiveness of their implementation needs to be improved to foster sustainable corporate performance.
