Peran Sutradara dalam Film Pendek Fiksi Selaras mengenai Polarisasi Politik dalam Relasi Keluarga

Media memiliki peran penting dalam membentuk cara pandang politik individu melalui informasi yang dikonsumsi setiap hari. Perbedaan konsumsi media dapat menghasilkan perbedaan persepsi terhadap realitas politik yang berpotensi memicu konflik dalam relasi keluarga. Berangkat dari fenomena tersebut, penelitian ini menghasilkan film pendek fiksi Selaras yang mengangkat pengaruh media terhadap pembentukan cara pandang politik dalam keluarga melalui perspektif penyutradaraan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan film pendek fiksi sebagai medium advokasi sekaligus merefleksikan proses penyutradaraan dalam menerjemahkan isu sosial-politik ke dalam karya audio visual. Penelitian menggunakan metode penciptaan karya (practice-based research) melalui tahapan praproduksi, produksi, pascaproduksi, dan penayangan film. Pengembangan karya didasarkan pada studi literatur, observasi, pengalaman peneliti, dan wawancara informal. Kerangka teori yang digunakan meliputi konsep echo chamber dan komunikasi konflik interpersonal dalam keluarga. Hasil penelitian berupa film pendek fiksi Selaras yang mengangkat dinamika hubungan Laras dan Pak Joko sebagai representasi perbedaan cara pandang politik akibat konsumsi media dan pengalaman hidup yang berbeda. Refleksi penyutradaraan menunjukkan bahwa proses penciptaan karya tidak hanya menuntut kemampuan artistik, tetapi juga kepemimpinan, pengambilan keputusan, komunikasi, regulasi emosi, serta kemampuan beradaptasi terhadap berbagai kendala produksi. Hasil penayangan menunjukkan bahwa audiens mampu menangkap pesan mengenai pentingnya komunikasi terbuka, saling memahami perbedaan pandangan politik, dan kesadaran bahwa media berperan dalam membentuk perspektif individu terhadap realitas sosial dan politik. 

Media plays a crucial role in shaping individuals' political perspectives through the information they consume daily. Differences in media consumption can lead to differing perceptions of political realities, potentially triggering conflict within family relationships. Based on this phenomenon, this research produced the fictional short film Selaras, which explores the influence of media on the formation of political perspectives within families through a directorial perspective. This research aims to produce a fictional short film as an advocacy medium while simultaneously reflecting the directorial process of translating socio-political issues into audiovisual works. The research employed a practice-based research method, encompassing pre-production, production, post-production, and screening stages. The development of the work was based on literature studies, observations, the researcher's experiences, and informal interviews. The theoretical framework used included the concept of echo chambers and interpersonal conflict communication within families. The research resulted in the fictional short film Selaras, which explores the dynamics of the relationship between Laras and Pak Joko as a representation of differing political perspectives resulting from media consumption and differing life experiences. The directorial reflections demonstrate that the creative process requires not only artistic ability but also leadership, decision-making, communication, emotional regulation, and the ability to adapt to various production constraints. The screening results showed that audiences grasped the message regarding the importance of open communication, mutual understanding of differing political views, and an awareness of the role of media in shaping individual perspectives on social and political realities.
