This study discusses the representation of the cyborg in the film Holy Motors (2012) by Leos Carax. This was done by examining the narrative elements of the film that indicate cyborgs and dissecting the role of three post-cinematic characteristics in manifesting cyborgs in this film. The purpose of this study is to reveal the embodiment of the cyborg subject who rejects essentialism, and also digital cinema that helps emphasize the cyborg. Using a qualitative-descriptive approach, research data in the form of screenshots and film dialogues were analyzed using two theoretical foundations, namely the theory of cyborg by Donna Haraway and the theory of post-cinema by Steven Shaviro. The results show that this film displays a radical manifestation of Haraway's cyborg through the collapse of three essentialist boundaries, namely between humans and animals, organisms and machines, as well as physical and non-physical. In addition, the white limousine used by the main character in this film also functions as an integrated circuit, where his body and identity are disassembled and reassembled. Furthermore, three of the post-cinematic characteristics, which include post-continuity, affective/immaterial labor, and dividual subject, also contribute to the construction of the cyborg.
