The development of social media has enabled fans not only to consume information but also to actively produce, disseminate, and debate various narratives surrounding public figures and issues involving their idols. One issue that has sparked extensive discussion among K-Pop fans is the alleged bullying controversy involving Kim Garam, a former member of K-Pop group LE SSERAFIM. This study aims to examine how narratives surrounding the controversy are constructed, disseminated, negotiated, and legitimized within digital spaces. Adopting a qualitative approach and a Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) perspective, the study analyzes a thread published by the X account @yeongijalhae and the audience responses associated with it. The findings reveal that the narrative constructed in the thread is not neutral; rather, it is shaped through processes of selecting, categorizing, and interpreting information in ways that support particular interpretations of the events under discussion. In this process, the account owner acts as an information curator by determining which aspects are highlighted and emphasized in the construction of the narrative. This construction is reinforced through the use of various digital references, including screenshots, previous posts, and external sources, which contribute to building credibility and strengthening the narrative's legitimacy among audiences. Contestation over meaning emerges through audience responses and interactions with the discourse constructed within the thread. At the same time, the affordances of X contribute to the dissemination, reproduction, and reinforcement of discourse through mechanism of visibility, the allocation of attention, and information circulation. The findings further indicate that digital power operates through the interplay between users, content, and the platform's characteristics, enabling certain narratives to gain greater visibility, legitimacy, and continued circulation than others within public discourse. Therefore, the formation and the tendency toward discourse dominance in digital spaces cannot be understood separately form users' discursive practices and the technological characteristics of the platform that mediate these interactions.
