Following the COVID-19 pandemic, teleworking and hybrid work in Indonesia have expanded rapidly and reshaped how teams coordinate, particularly in organizations that operate multiple teams in parallel, known as multiteam systems. This shift has made leaders' ability to direct teams remotely a key determinant of team success. This study aims to analyze the effect of six e-leadership competencies in the Six E-Competencies (SEC) framework, namely e-communication, e-social, e-tech, e-team, e-change, and e-trust, on team performance, both directly and through information elaboration as a mediating variable.

This study employs a quantitative approach through an online survey distributed via Google Forms. Respondents consisted of 169 staff and employees from companies in Indonesia working in hybrid or full teleworking arrangements, with the minimum sample size determined using G*Power. The questionnaire adapted the SEC instrument, the information elaboration scale, and the team performance scale, supported by back-translation and a pilot study. Hypothesis testing was conducted using multiple linear regression for direct effects and PROCESS Macro Model 4 (Hayes) with 5,000 percentile bootstrap resamples at a 95% confidence level for mediation effects.

The results show that e-leadership significantly influences team performance, with e-team and e-change emerging as the most prominent direct predictors. In its relationship with information elaboration, e-trust serves as the strongest predictor, followed by e-team. Information elaboration is shown to function as a partial mediator in the relationship between e-leadership and team performance. At the dimensional level, e-social is fully mediated; e-tech, e-team, and e-change are partially mediated; e-communication shows no mediation pathway; while e-trust could not be tested due to a violation of the linearity assumption. These findings can serve as a reference for companies in designing digital leadership development programs focused on virtual team management, change navigation, and trust-building in remote work environments.

Kata Kunci : e-leadership, team performance, teleworking, multiteam systems, information elaboration.
