Otoritas Naratif dan Pergeseran Fokalisasi: Analisis Naratologi Novel Dawuk: Kisah Kelabu Dari Rumbuk Randu

Penelitian ini mengkaji mekanisme naratif dalam novel Dawuk: Kisah Kelabu Dari Rumbuk Randu. Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah untuk mengurai mekanisme struktur naratif yang digunakan untuk membangun, memanipulasi, dan pada akhirnya mendekonstruksi otoritas naratif dalam teks tersebut. Dengan mengintegrasikan teori naratologi strukturalis klasik Gérard Genette dengan teori postmodern Linda Hutcheon tentang Metafiksi Historiografis, tesis ini menunjukkan bagaimana elemen-elemen formal, khususnya pelanggaran kode fokalisasi dan pergeseran tingkat naratif, berfungsi sebagai instrumen ideologis yang disengaja. Teknik dan mekanisme formal ini tidak sekadar berfungsi sebagai hiasan estetika, melainkan sebuah pilihan sadar untuk menentang penerimaan narasi tunggal yang bersifat otoritatif, baik yang dihasilkan oleh negara, elit desa, maupun seorang pendongeng yang karismatik di sebuah kedai kopi lokal. Di saat yang bersamaan melakukan pluralisasi narasi dan memberi ruang bagi suara komunitas marjinal, atau yang “eksentrik”.

This thesis examines the narrative mechanisms in the novel Dawuk: Kisah Kelabu Dari Rumbuk Randu. The primary objective of this study is to analyze the narrative structural mechanisms used to construct, manipulate, and ultimately deconstruct narrative authority within the text. By integrating Gérard Genette’s classical structuralist narratology with Linda Hutcheon’s postmodern theory of Historiographic Metafiction, this thesis demonstrates how formal elements, particularly violations of the focalization code and shifts in narrative levels, function as deliberate ideological instruments. These formal techniques and mechanisms do not merely serve as aesthetic embellishments, but rather represent a conscious choice to challenge the acceptance of a single, authoritative narrative—whether produced by the state, village elites, or a charismatic storyteller at a local coffee shop. At the same time, this pluralises narrative and creates space for the voices of marginalized communities, or the “eccentric.”
