Modus Naratif Sebagai Strategi Penyampaian Pesan Cerkak Kabeh Rumangsa Bener Karya Nini Klenyem: Kajian Naratologi Gerard Genette

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk modus naratif dan penyampaian pesan dalam cerkak Kabeh Rumangsa Bener karya Nini Klenyem dengan menggunakan teori naratologi Gerard Genette. Fokus kajian diarahkan pada dua aspek utama modus naratif, yaitu jarak naratif (distance) dan fokalisasi (focalization), untuk mengungkap cara narator menyajikan peristiwa serta membangun perspektif penceritaan. Data penelitian berupa kata, frasa, kalimat, dan paragraf dalam cerkak, dianalisis menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif.

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penceritaan dalam cerkak ini didominasi oleh jarak naratif dekat. Dominasi tersebut tampak pada penggambaran batin tokoh, khususnya Wasti. Penggunaan fokalisasi internal membuat penceritaan berpusat pada pengalaman subjektif Wasti, sementara fokalisasi nol dan eksternal muncul sebagai pelengkap dalam menggambarkan situasi di luar diri tokoh. Pemilihan teknik naratif tersebut berfungsi menegaskan konflik batin, ketegangan rumah tangga, serta perubahan sikap tokoh dalam menghadapi persoalan.

Melalui strategi naratif tersebut, pengarang menyampaikan pesan bahwa kebenaran bersifat relatif, setiap tokoh merasa tindakannya benar berdasarkan sudut pandang masing-masing. Sikap tidak mau memahami orang lain dan dorongan mempertahankan ego justru menjadi sumber kehancuran hubungan. Dengan demikian, cerkak ini menekankan pentingnya kesadaran diri, empati dan komunikasi dalam kehidupan sosial maupun keluarga.

This study aims to describe the narrative mode and message delivery in Nini Klenyem's short story Kabeh Rumangsa Bener using Gerard Genette's narratology theory. The study focuses on two main aspects of narrative mode, namely narrative distance and focalization, to reveal how the narrator presents events and constructs the narrative perspective. The research data, consisting of words, phrases, sentences, and paragraphs in the short story, were analyzed using qualitative descriptive methods.

The results of the study show that the narration in this short story is dominated by close narrative distance. This dominance is evident in the depiction of the characters inner thoughts, especially Wasti. The use of internal focalization centers the narrative on Wasti's subjective experiences, while zero and external focalization appear as complements in describing situations outside the characters. The choice of this narrative technique serves to emphasize the inner conflict, domestic tension, and changes in the characters attitudes in facing problems.

Through this narrative strategy, the author conveys the message that truth in stories is relative because each character feels that their actions are correct based on their own point of view. The unwillingness to understand others and the urge to defend one's ego are the sources of the destruction of relationships. Thus, this short story emphasizes the importance of self-awareness, empathy, and communication in social and family life.
