Struktur Naratif Cerpen Sepotong Senja untuk Pacarku Karya Seno Gumira Ajidarma Analisis Naratologi Gerard Genette

Kumpulan cerpen Sepotong Senja untuk Pacarku karya Seno Gumira Ajidarma menghadirkan berbagai perspektif mengenai senja sebagai lambang pengalaman emosional. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi berbagai aspek naratologi yang membentuk struktur penceritaan dalam kumpulan cerpen tersebut. Dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif, penelitian ini mengkaji kutipan-kutipan naratif untuk mengungkapkan elemen waktu dan posisi narator dioperasikan. Oleh karena itu, penelitian akan (1) menelusuri urutan, durasi, dan frekuensi naratif dalam teks, serta (2) menguraikan modus naratif melalui posisi narator dan titik pandang penceritaan. Teori naratologi Gerard Genette digunakan sebagai pisau analisis untuk membedah empat unsur utama, yaitu urutan, durasi, frekuensi, dan modus naratif. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa narasi dalam kumpulan cerpen ini tidak bersifat linear, melainkan memanfaatkan bentuk anakroni (analepsis dan prolepsis). Dari segi durasi, ditemukan penggunaan jeda, adegan, dan elipsis yang mengatur ritme cerita, sementara frekuensi naratifnya mencakup berbagai bentuk representasi pengulangan. Posisi narator berfungsi sebagai tokoh utama yang menggunakan fokalisasi internal, sehingga alur penceritaan hanya terbatas pada pengetahuan serta pengalaman narator secara langsung. Dengan demikian, penerapan teori Gerard Genette berhasil mengungkap keterkaitan antara elemen waktu dan posisi narator dalam membangun keutuhan struktur naratif kumpulan cerpen ini.

The short story collection Sepotong Senja untuk Pacarku (A Piece of Sunset for My Girlfriend) by Seno Gumira Ajidarma presents various perspectives on sunset as a symbol of emotional experiences. This study aims to identify various narratological aspects that shape the storytelling structure in this collection of short stories. Using a descriptive qualitative method, this study examines narrative quotations to reveal  the elements of time and narrator’s position. Therefore, this study will (1) trace the sequence, duration, and frequency of narratives in the text, and (2) describe the narrative mode through the narrator’s position and point of view. Gerard Genette’s narratological theory is used as an analytical tool to dissect four main elements, namely sequence, duration, frequency, and narrative mode. The results of the study conclude that the narrative in this collection of short stories is not linear, but rather utilizes anachronic forms (analepsis and prolepsis). In terms of duration, the use of pauses, scenes, and ellipses was found to regulate the rhythm of the story, while the narrative frequency included various forms of repetition. The narrator’s position functioned as the main character who used internal focalization, so that the narrative flow was limited to the narrator’s direct knowledge and experience. Thus, the application of Gerard Genette’s theory successfully reveals the relationship between the elements of time and the narrator’s position in constructing the integrity of the narrative structure of this collection of short stories.
