Judo athletes often face significant physical and psychological pressure that triggers anxiety before matches due to the nature of this sport involving direct physical contact. This anxiety needs to be managed because it can be a factor in athlete performance failure. Competition anxiety is influenced by several factors, both internal and external. This study aims to examine the role of internal factors in the form of self-efficacy and external factors in the form of social support on competition anxiety among judo athletes. This study used a quantitative approach where the data obtained were then analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis. Participants consisted of 218 judo athletes in Indonesia, aged 18-30 years, who had participated in at least one official competition. The results showed that self-efficacy and social support jointly predicted competition anxiety (F=7,84; p=<0,001), with an Rvalue of 0,068 indicating that self-efficacy and social support were able to explain 6,8% of the variance in competition anxiety. Partially, self-efficacy had a significant negative effect, while social support had no significant effect but simultaneously strengthened the model's predictive power. These findings provide both theoretical and practical contributions, particularly in providing information to coaches and sports organizations in developing mental strengthening programs for athletes.
