Perlawanan Masyarakat Tunisia terhadap Kolonialisme Prancis dalam Novel At-Tutu al-Murru Karya Muhammad al-Arusi al-Matwi: Analisis Sastra Poskolonial

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengungkap praktik kolonial dan strategi perlawanan dalam novel at-T?t? al-Murru karya Mu?ammad al-‘Ar?s? alMa?w? dengan menggunakan teori poskolonial dan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data diperoleh melalui teknik simak dan catat, lalu diklasifikasikan dan dianalisis berdasarkan kategori representasi praktik kolonial dan bentuk strategi perlawanan. Pendekatan homologi digunakan untuk menjajarkan struktur naratif dalam teks dengan realitas sosial masyarakat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa praktik kolonialisme dalam novel direpresentasikan melalui klaim “misi peradaban” dan pengaruh budaya kolonial, legalisasi takr?r?, serta kendali perdagangan takr?r? oleh pemerintah kolonial Prancis. Tokoh-tokoh dalam novel menanggapi kondisi tersebut melalui strategi perlawanan, yaitu kritik sosial-politik, penyadaran akan bahaya takr?r?, dan pembentukan asosiasi. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa at-T?t? al-Murru tidak hanya merekam penderitaan rakyat jajahan, tetapi juga merepresentasikan semangat perlawanan masyarakat Tunisia terhadap kolonialisme Prancis dalam upaya mempertahankan martabat dan identitas mereka.

This study aims to reveal the representation of colonial practices and resistance strategies in the novel at-T?t? al-Murru by Mu?ammad al-‘Ar?s? al-Ma?w?, using a postcolonial literary approach and a qualitative descriptive method. The data were collected through close reading and note-taking techniques, then classified and analyzed based on the categories of colonial practice representation and forms of resistance strategies. A homological approach was employed to align the narrative structure within the text with the social realities of the society it reflects. The results show that colonialism in the novel is represented through the claim of a “civilizing mission”, the influence of colonial culture, the legalization of takr?r?, and the monopolization of takr?r? trade by the French colonial government. The characters in the novel respond to these conditions through various resistance strategies, including socio-political criticism, raising public awareness of the dangers of takr?r?, and the establishment of associations. This study concludes that at-T?t? al-Murru not only portrays the suffering of colonized people but also represents the spirit of resistance of the Tunisian against French colonialism in their struggle to preserve their dignity and identity.
