Revitalisasi Ruko di Jalan Soeprapto, Bengkulu, dengan Konsep Mixed-Use Hotel Berbasis Daur Ulang Struktur

Jalan Soeprapto dikenal sebagai pusat aktivitas sosial-ekonomi masyarakat Kota Bengkulu pada tahun 1990-an. Deretan rumah toko (shophouse) bergaya modern awalnya menjadi daya tarik utama bagi pengunjung untuk berbelanja sekaligus bagi pemilik usaha untuk menetap. Namun, perkembangan kawasan pesisir yang lebih modern menggeser perhatian masyarakat, sementara minimnya upaya peremajaan menyebabkan kawasan ini kehilangan daya tarik visual. Fenomena penutupan toko secara permanen semakin mempercepat kemunduran aktivitas di koridor ini.

Sebagai kawasan yang memiliki citra kuat dengan dominasi shophouse, Jalan Soeprapto memiliki potensi untuk direvitalisasi melalui adaptasi fungsi bangunan lama. Perancangan ini mengusung konsep mixed-use hotel dengan memanfaatkan struktur eksisting rumah toko serta pembaruan pada fungsi residensialnya. Pendekatan ini bertujuan untuk menjadikan kawasan sebagai urban catalyst melalui penambahan fungsi-fungsi baru yang dapat menarik berbagai kalangan usia. Dengan penguatan elemen visual serta reaktivasi fungsi hunian dan komersial secara terpadu, perancangan ini diharapkan menjadi langkah awal dalam menghidupkan kembali jaringan aktivitas sosial-ekonomi di Jalan Soeprapto. 

Jalan Soeprapto was known as the center of socio-economic activities in Bengkulu City during the 1990s. Rows of modern-style shophouses initially attracted visitors for shopping and business owners to reside in these buildings. However, the emergence of more modern coastal developments shifted public attention, while the lack of revitalization efforts caused the buildings in this area to lose their visual appeal. The phenomenon of permanent store closures further accelerated the decline of activity in this corridor. 

As an area with a strong identity dominated by shophouses, Jalan Soeprapto holds significant potential for revitalization through the adaptive reuse of old buildings. This design proposal introduces a mixed-use hotel concept by utilizing the existing shophouse structures with functional upgrades to their residential components. The approach aims to establish the area as an urban catalyst by introducing new functions that attract diverse age groups. Through the enhancement of visual elements and the reactivation of integrated residential and commercial functions, this design is expected to serve as an initial step in revitalizing the socio-economic network of Jalan Soeprapto.
