Background: Academic resilience refers to a person's ability to cope with and bounce back from academic challenges, which includes skills in managing stress, seeking adaptive help, and maintaining motivation and perseverance. PPDS, especially PPDS 1 students, the high academic load and clinical demands often lead to elevated stress level. One widely used instrument to measure academic resilience is the Academic Resilience Scale (ARS-30). Before being implemented in Indonesia, this instrument needs to be adapted and validated to ensure it aligns with the cultural and academic context of Indonesia, particularly among PPDS students.
Objectives: To adapt, test, and identify the validity and reliability of the ARS-30 Indonesian version in the PPDS context so that it can be used to measure academic resilience levels.
Method: This study was conducted using a non-experimental observational method with a cross-sectional design. The subjects of the study were PPDS 1 final stage at Sardjito Hospital (N = 148). The content validity was tested using Aiken's V Index and Pearson Product Moment correlation test, while construct validity was tested using Explanatory Factor Analysis (EFA). The reliability was tested by calculating internal consistency based on Cronbach's alpha.
Results: The results of the content validity test with an Aiken's V index 0.837 indicate that the content validity of the ARS-30 instrument is valid and the Pearson's Product Moment correlation test shows that all items have a calculated r value (0.252-0.725) greater than the table r value (r> 0.161). The results of the internal reliability test of the ARS-30 instrument yielded a Cronbach's alpha value of 0.887.
Conclusion: The Indonesian version of the Academic Resilience Scale (ARS-30) is a valid and reliable instrument for assessing the level of academic resilience in final-year PPDS 1 students.
