Tesis ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji budaya masyarakat Arab Badui dalam film Theeb karya Naji Abu Nowar dengan pendekatan sosiologi sastra. Film ini mengambil latar belakang sebelum masuknya pengaruh Eropa di wilayah Hijaz, fokus pada kehidupan suku Badui yang hidup di gurun yang keras. Analisis ini melibatkan studi terhadap kehidupan sosial Arab Badui sebelum masuknya Eropa.

 

Metode penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Dengan mendeskripsikan bagaimana kehidupan sosial pada sebuah karya sastra yaitu film. Sehingga setelah dideskripsikan, maka menghasilkan hasil penelitian yang dapat menjelaskan bagaimana kondisi sosial saat itu.

 

Hasil penelitian ini dapat menjawab bagaimana budaya masyarakat Arab Badui yang hidup nomaden, mampu bertahan hidup, memuliakan tamu, dan mampu menjadi ahli navigasi yang baik guna menunjukkan jalan bagi orang-orang yang membutuhkannya. Selain itu juga menjawab bagaimana kerajaan Ottoman di Hijaz sebelum masuknya Eropa.

This thesis aims to examine the culture of the Bedouin Arab community in the film Theeb by Naji Abu Nowar using a literary sociology approach. This film is set before the arrival of European influence in the Hijaz region, focusing on the lives of the Bedouin tribe who live in the harsh desert. This analysis involves a study of Bedouin Arab social life before European entry.

 

The research method uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. By describing how social life is in a literary work, namely film. So that after it is described, it produces research results that can explain the social conditions at that time.

 

The results of this research can answer how the culture of the Bedouin Arab community, which lives nomadic, is able to survive, respect guests, and be able to become good navigation experts to show the way for people who need it. Apart from that, it also answers how the Ottoman empire was in the Hijaz before the arrival of Europe.
