Konsep Pembebasan dalam The Expositor Karya Maung Tin Perspektif Hermeneutika Wilhelm Dilthey

Tafsir kitab suci bertujuan untuk menerangkan ajaran dalam kitab suci kepada umat supaya lebih mudah dipahami. Maung Tin adalah Profesor Pali yang memiliki perhatian terhadap eksistensi kitab-kitab Buddha. Karya Maung Tin The Expositor merupakan tafsir atas kitab Atthasalini karya Buddhaghosa yang membicarakan tentang jalan pembebasan. Konsep pembebasan merupakan isu yang menarik untuk dibicarakan, karena manusia lahir dalam samsara memiliki tugas membebaskan diri dari samsara. Peneliti melakukan analisis mengenai tafsir Maung Tin mengenai konsep pembebasan dalam The Expositor. Penulis menggunakan perspektif hermeneutika Dilthey untuk mengetahui kerangka epistemologis Maung Tin, dan mengkomparasikannya dengan filosofi kurikulum Mardeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka. 

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian studi pustaka dengan model penelitian historis faktual naskah tokoh. Teks dalam penelitian ini adalah The Expositor karya Maung Tin. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode hermeneutika-filosofis, dengan unsur metodis: interpretasi, deskripsi dan komparasi. Peneliti menginterpretasi tafsir Maung Tin dalam karya The Expositor,  mendeskripsikan hasil analisis hermeneutika Dilthey, dan mengkomparasikan hasil analisis tersebut dengan filosofi MBKM.

Hasil penelitian: Pertama, pembebasan mengandung dua makna, yaitu pembebasan duniawi (lokiya) dan pembebasan muthlak (lokuttara). Ke-dua, Maung Tin  merupakan Profesor Pali yang memiliki pengalaman mendalam dalam bidang kitab-kitab Buddha; Karya The Expositor merupakan karya erlebnisausdrucke atau ungkapan jiwa tentang karya pemikiran filsafat; Pembebasan duniawi adalah terpenuhinya keinginan-keingginan manusia, adapun pembebasan muthlak adalah kebebasan spiritual dan dimiliki oleh manusia yang telah mencapai kesucian batin. Ke-tiga, bahwa MBKM adalah suatu upaya pembebasan dalam konteks duniawi, pembebasan dari kebodohan secara intelektual (freedom from somethink). Dalam konteks eksistensial (freedom for semothink), kebebasan tersebut dibatasi oleh norma-norma sosial, sehingga pada hakikatnya kebebasan duniawi (lokiya) adalah tidak ada kebebasan yang benar-benar bebas, karena kebebasan duniawi selalu diikuti oleh konsekuensi sebagai

Interpretation of the holy books aims to explain the teachings in the hply books to the people so that they are easier to understand. Maung Tin is a Pali Professor who is interested in the existence of Buddhist scriptures. Maung Tin's work The Expositor is an interpretation of the book  Atthasalini by Buddhaghosa which talks about the path of liberation. The concept of liberation is an interesting issue to discuss, because humans born in samsara have the task of freeing themselves from samsara. The researcher conducted an analysis of Maung Tin's interpretation of the concept of liberation in The Expositor. The author uses Dilthey's hermeneutical perspektive to understand Maung Tin's epistemological framework and compares it whit the philosophy of the Independent Learning-Free Campus (MBKM) curriculum.

This research is a library study research with a factual historical research model of character texts. The text in this research is The Expositor by Maung Tin. This research uses a hermeneitic-philosophical method, with methodical elements: interpretation, description and comparison. The researcher interprets Maung Tin's interpretation in the The Expositor, describes the results of Dilthey's hermeneutical analysis, and compares the results of this abalysis with the philosophy of the MBKM curriculum.

Research results: First, liberation contains two meanings, namely wordly liberation (lokiya) and absolute liberation (lokuttara). Second, Maung Tin is a Pali Professor who has deep experience in the field of Buddhist scriptures; The work of The Expositor is the work of Erlebnisausdrucke or an expression of the soul of the work of philosophical thought; Worldly liberation is the fulfillment of human desires, while absolute liberation is spiritual freedom and is owned by humans who have achieved inner purity. Third, that MBKM is an effort for liberation in a worldly context, liberation from intellectual ignorance (freedom from somethink). In an exsistential context (freedom for somethink), this freedom is limited by social norms. so that in essence worldly freedom (lokiya) means that there is no truly free freedom, because worldly freedom is always followed by consequences as an impact.
