MUATAN SEJARAH INDONESIA DALAM NOVEL RAHASIA SALINEM KARYA BRILLIANT YOTENEGA DAN WISNU SURYANING ADJI: KAJIAN LATAR STANTONIAN

Objek material dalam penelitian ini adalah novel Rahasia Salinem karya Brilliant Yotenega dan Wisnu Suryaning Adji. Objek formal yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori struktural, khususnya analisis latar. Penelitian ini memiliki dua tujuan, yaitu tujuan teoretis dan tujuan praktis. Tujuan teoretis dari penelitian ini adalah menerapkan teori struktural dalam menganalisis latar novel Rahasia Salinem karya Brilliant Yotenega dan Wisnu Suryaning Adji. Adapun tujuan praktis penelitian ini berfungsi mengetahui jenis-jenis latar, fungsi latar, dan hubungan antarjenis latar yang ditemukan dalam novel Rahasia Salinem karya Brilliant Yotenega dan Wisnu Suryaning Adji.

Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa latar terdiri atas enam bagian, yaitu lingkungan peristiwa, latar belakang yang terlihat, waktu dalam sehari atau setahun, iklim atau cuaca, periode sejarah, dan orang-orang yang melatarbelakangi jalannya cerita. Dari keenam jenis-jenis latar tersebut, jenis latar yang paling dominan adalah periode sejarah yang bersinggungan dengan kehidupan tokoh Salinem. Dengan demikian, latar memiliki fungsi yang beragam di dalam karya sastra. Suasana cerita digambarkan secara sentimental untuk melibatkan pembaca secara emosional dalam satu kesatuan unsur-unsur cerita. Jenis-jenis latar tersebut memuat begitu banyak unsur sejarah Indonesia yang berkaitan erat dengan kehidupan tokoh Salinem dalam cerita. Enam jenis latar tersebut menawarkan berbagai permasalahan dengan pusat perhatian yang bervariasi dan memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan bagi kisah hidup Salinem. Meskipun demikian, keenamnya saling berhubungan untuk memainkan daya imajinasi pembaca dalam memahami cerita secara faktual.

The material object in this research is a Brilliant Yotenega dan Wisnu Suryaning Adji’s novel titled Rahasia Salinem. The formal object used in this research is structural theory, especially background analysis. This research has two objectives, namely theoretical objectives and practical objectives. The theoretical purpose of this research is to apply structural theory in analyzing the setting of the novel Rahasia Salinem by Brilliant Yotenega and Wisnu Suryaning Adji. The practical purpose of this research is to determine the background elements, background functions, and relationships between background elements found in the novel Rahasia Salinem by Brilliant Yotenega and Wisnu Suryaning Adji.

The results of the analysis show that the setting consists of six parts, namely the environment of its event, visible background, the time of the day or the year, the climater, historical period, and the people in the background of the story. Of the six background elements, the most dominant background element is the historical period that closely related with the life of the character Salinem. Thus, setting has various functions in literary works. The atmosphere of the story is described sentimentally to involve the reader emotionally in a unified story elements. These background elements contain many content of Indonesian history which are closely related to the life of the character Salinem in the story. These six background elements offer various problems with varying centers of attention and have a significant influence on Salinem's life story. However, the six are interconnected to play on the reader's imagination in understanding the story factually.
