Janji-janji Kesetiaan dan Harapan dalam Novel Sunset Bersama Rosie Karya Tere Liye: Analisis Sastra Perjalanan Carl Thomspon

Penelitian ini menggunakan objek material berupa novel Sunset Bersama Rosie karya Tere Liye dan objek formal teori Sastra Perjalanan Carl Thompson untuk menjawab masalah penelitian. Penelitian yang dilakukan bertujuan menjawab dua rumusan masalah. Pertama, mengkaji pola penggambaran dunia dalam novel Sunset Bersama Rosie terkait janji-janji kesetiaan dan harapan. Kedua, mengkaji hubungan pola penggambaran dunia dengan motivasi, agenda, dan idelogi dalam novel Sunset Bersama Rosie terkait janji-janji kesetiaan dan harapan. Seluruh data dalam penelitian ini dikumpulkan menggunakan metode kualitatif. Data yang telah dikumpulkan kemudian dianalisis menggunakan metode deskriptif analisis untuk mendeskripsikan fakta-fakta yang didapat mengenai penggambaran dunia, motivasi, agenda, dan idelogi, kemudian menganalisis pola penggambaran dunia, serta hubungan pola penggambaran dunia dengan motivasi, agenda, dan ideologi yang terdapat di dalam novel Sunset Bersama Rosie karya Tere Liye. Adapun hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pola penggambaran dunia dalam novel Sunset Bersama Rosie dominan mengarah pada sisi objektif. Analisis penggambaran dunia dilakukan secara objektif dan subjektif oleh pejalan. Dalam melakukan penggambaran dunia, pejalan menunjukkan motivasi yang mendorong pejalan untuk melakukan perjalanan selama di Gunung Rinjani, Jakarta, Bali, dan Lombok. Motivasi utama pejalan ialah tragedi bom yang terjadi di Jimbaran. Motivasi lain yang dimiliki pejalan, di antaranya, menyatakan cinta, mencari kesibukan bekerja di Ibu Kota, dan tepati janji pernikahan. Selain itu, analisis penggambaran dunia juga menunjukkan agenda pejalan yang terdiri dari implikasi etis, yakni moral baik dan buruknya pejalan, serta implikasi politis berupa wacana turistik pejalan dan lokasi shelter di nuansa alam. Penggambaran dunia dalam penelitian ini juga menunjukkan ideologi humanisme, optimisme, dan teisme yang dimiliki pejalan. Penggambaran dunia dengan motivasi, agenda, dan ideologi dalam novel Sunset Bersama Rosie saling berhubungan erat dengan janji-janji kesetiaan dan harapan melalui perjalanan sang pejalan.

This research uses the material object of the novel Sunset Bersama Rosie by Tere Liye and the formal object of Carl Thompson's Travel Writing theory to answer the research problem. The research conducted aims to answer two problem formulations. First, it examines the pattern of reporting the world in Sunset Bersama Rosie novel related to promises of loyalty and hope. Second, to examine the relationship between reporting the world pattern and motivation, agenda, and ideology in Sunset Bersama Rosie novel related to promises of loyalty and hope. All data in this study were collected using qualitative methods. The data that have been collected are then analyzed using descriptive analysis method to describe the facts obtained about reporting the world, motivation, agenda, and ideology, then analyze reporting the world patterns, as well as the relationship between reporting the world with motivation, agenda, and ideology contained in Sunset Bersama Rosie novel by Tere Liye. The results of this research show that the pattern of reporting the world in Sunset Bersama Rosie novel dominantly leads to the objective side. The analysis of reporting the world is done objectively and subjectively by the traveler. In describing the world, the traveler shows the motivation that drives the traveler to travel. The main motivation is the bomb tragedy that occurred in Jimbaran. Other motivations include professing love, finding a busy job in the capital city, and keeping a wedding promise. In addition, the analysis of reporting the world also shows the agenda of the traveler which consists of ethical implications, namely the moral good and bad of the traveler, as well as political implications in the form of the traveler's touristic discourse towards the object he observes and shelter’s location on the nation. The depiction of reporting the world in this study also shows the ideologies of humanism, optimism, and theism of the traveller. Therefore, the depiction of reporting the world with motivation, agenda, and ideology in Sunset Bersama Rosie novel is related to promises of loyalty and hope and closely interconnected through the traveler's journey.
