SIGNIFIKANSI PUISI “OWOL SOSHIK” (?? ??) KARYA JEONG JI-YONG: KAJIAN SEMIOTIKA RIFFATERRE

Puisi yang berjudul “Owol Soshik” (?? ??) ‘Kabar Bulan Mei’ ditulis oleh Jeong Ji-Yong pada tahun 1927 dalam buku Jeong Ji-Yong Sijib (??? ??). Puisi menceritakan kenangan seorang kakak yang teringat akan adik perempuannya yang meninggal di pulau terpencil. Puisi ini dianalisis menggunakan kajian semiotika Michael Riffaterre (1978) untuk mengetahui makna dari puisi “Owol Soshik” (?? ??). Berdasarkan teori semiotika Michael Riffaterre (1978), puisi ini dianalisis melalui dua tahapan pembacaan yaitu pembacaan heuristik untuk mengetahui arti harfiah pada puisi dan pembacaan hermeneutik untuk mengetahui makna puisi berdasarkan makna konotatif. 

Melalui hasil analisis pembacaan heuristik, dapat diketahui bahwa makna puisi ini menceritakan tentang penyair yang menantikan datangnya kabar sembari mengenang sang adik. Kemudian pada tahap pembacaan hermeneutik ditemukan bahwa makna puisi yang didapat lebih dalam yaitu kenangan dan kesedihan penyair tentang kabar sang adik.

Dari hasil penelitian ini, dapat diambil kesimpulan secara keseluruhan bahwa “Owol Soshik” (?? ??) merupakan puisi yang meceritakan tentang kerinduan dan kesedihan penyair karena teringat akan kenangan yang dihabiskan bersama adik perempuannya yang telah tiada. Penelitian ini menjelaskan bahwa penyair begitu berduka namun tidak berdaya sehingga hanya bisa mengenang adik perempuannya yang meninggal dunia. Oleh karena itu, dapat diketahui bahwa tema dari puisi “Owol Soshik” (?? ??) adalah kenangan dan kesedihan.

The poem “Owol Soshik” (?? ??) titled “News of May” was written by Jeong Ji-Yong in 1927 in Jeong Ji-Yong Sijib (??? ??). Poetry tells of the memory of an older brother who was reminded of her younger sister who died on an isolated island. The poem is analyzed using the semiotic study of Michael Riffaterre (1978) to determine the interpretation of the meaning of the poem “Owol Soshik” (?? ??). Based on the semiotic theory of Michael Riffaterre (1978), the poem is analyzed through two stages of reading, heuristic reading to determine the literal meaning of the poem and hermeneutic reading to determine the meaning of the poem based on the connotative meaning. 

Through analysis of heuristic reading, it can be seen that the meaning of the poem tells of the poet waiting for the news to come while remembering his younger sister. On the other hand, in the hermeneutic reading stage, it is found that the meaning of the poem is deeper, namely the memory and sorrow of the sister.

From the results of this study, it can be concluded as a whole that “Owol Soshik” (?? ??) is a poem that tells of the poet's longing and sorrow because of the memory spent with his dead sister. This study explains that the poet is so grieved but helpless that he can only remember his sister who died. Therefore, it can be seen that the theme of the poem “Owol Soshik” (?? ??) is memories and sorrow.
