Citra Anak dan Kekerasan dalam Grimm's Fairy Tales: Kajian Psikoanalisis Jung dan Historis Marx

Grimm’s Fairy Tales menghadirkan dunia antah-berantah yang mempertemukan citra anak-anak dengan kekerasan. Kecenderungan itu menjadi sebuah tanda tanya besar mengingat dongeng dijauhkan dari unsur-unsur kekerasan. Hal tersebut dilatarbelakangi oleh budaya literasi (modern) yang mengelompokkan dongeng sebagai cerita anak. Meski demikian, pertalian antara kedua aspek yang bertentangan itu justru memiliki konten yang menarik untuk didiskusikan, khususnya riwayat psikis dan sejarah yang terkandung dalam dongeng Grimm. Tesis ini menggunakan Grimm’s Fairy Tales: Cinderella dan The Goose Girl sebagai objek penelitian. Terdapat dua macam pendekatan yang digunakan untuk mengungkap kecenderungan dari dongeng tersebut. Pertama, pendekatan psikoanalisis (Jung) dapat mengenali arketipe yang beroperasi dalam dongeng. Kedua, pendekatan sosiologi (Marx) memberikan akses pada lanskap sosial dan sejarah di balik dongeng tersebut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif; amplification dan pembacaan leksikal. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengungkap hubungan dari citra anak dan kekerasan melalui pendekatan psikoanalisis Jung dan realitasnya menggunakan pendekatan historis Marx. Penelitian ini mengungkap beberapa hal menarik dari dongeng Cinderella dan The Goose Girl, diantaranya adalah operasi shadow oleh tokoh antagonis dan protagonis dan Homo homini Lupus. Pemikiran Jung menjawab rumusan masalah pertama ke rana alam bawah sadar dan menemukan arketipe shadow sebagai penggerak hubungan anak-anak dengan kekerasan. Operasi shadow menyetir kesadaran ego untuk bertansformasi dan melakukan mekanisme pertahanan. Untuk rumusan masalah kedua, dongeng Cinderella dan The Goose Girl menghadirkan kerajaan selaku potret kelas sosial dan perjodohan sebagai praktik modernisme; dinamis dan rasional. Melalui Marx, diketahui bahwa anak-anak dan kekerasan adalah sebuah realitas sehingga persaingan bebas terjadi, anak-anak dieksploitasi, dan dijadikan objek untuk memenuhi kebutuhan dari sosok predator sosial.

Grimm's Fairy Tales present a world of fiction that combines the image of children and violence. Such a tendency raises a big question, considering that fairy tales are kept away from elements of violence. This is motivated by the (modern) literary culture, which classified fairy tales as children's stories. Nevertheless, the connection between the two contradictory aspects is interesting to discuss, especially the narratives of mental and history contained in Grimm's tales. This thesis uses Grimm's Fairy Tales: Cinderella and The Goose Girl as the research object. There are two approaches used to reveal the tendency of the fairy tale. First, the psychoanalytic approach (Jung) can recognize the archetypes that operate in fairy tales. Second, the sociological approach (Marx) provides access to the social and historical landscapes behind the stories. The research method used is qualitative, amplification, and lexical reading. The purpose of this study is to open a discussion of Jung's psychoanalytic studies and Marx's historical approach to Grimm's tales. This research reveals some interesting things from the story of Cinderella and The Goose Girl, namely the operation of shadow, the myth of transformation, and Homo homini Lupus. Jung's notion led the first problem formulation to the subconscious and found the shadow archetype as the driving force for children's relationship with violence. Shadow directs the ego consciousness to transform and perform a defense mechanism. For the second formulation of the problem, Cinderella and The Goose Girl fairy present the kingdom as a portrait of social class and arranged marriage as a modernist practice, dynamic and rational. Through Marx, it is known that children and violence are a reality, so that competition happens, and children are exploited and used as objects in the eyes of social predators.
