Masjid Pathok Negoro merupakan masjid yang memiliki keistimewaan sebagai masjid kagungan dalem Kasultanan Yogyakarta. Sebagai sebuah masjid tradisional Jawa, Masjid Pathok Negoro memiliki karakter arsitektur sebagaimana masjid jawa tradisional lainnya. Keempat Masjid Pathok Negoro memiliki kesamaan dan perbedaan yang membentuk karakter arsitektur khusus bagi masjid-masjid tersebut. Akulturasi budaya memiliki peran dalam membentuk karakter arsitektur Masjid Pathok Negoro berdasarkan sejarah akulturasi budaya yang terjadi di Pulau Jawa khususnya budaya Jawa, Hindu dan Islam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelusuri karakter arsitektur Masjid Pathok Negoro berdasarkan aspek spasial, fisik dan stilistik dari masing-masing masjid yang dikomparasikan. Selain itu penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk menelusuri seberapa jauh akulturasi budaya Jawa, Hindu dan Islam mempengaruhi pembentukan karakter arsitektur Masjid Pathok Negoro. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitiatif dengan penalaran induktif. Data didapatkan dari survey lapangan di masing-masing objek yang kemudian dikaji dengan literatur-literatur tentang karakter arsitektur dan akulturasi budaya Jawa, Hindu dan Islam. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa karakter arsitektur Masjid Pathok Negoro terbentuk berdasarkan aspek spatial, physical dan stylistic system yang mencakup zonasi, sumbu, orientasi, denah dan hirarki ruangnya. Aspek physical system mencakup pola bentuk fisik bagian kepala, badan dan kaki bangunan. Aspek stylistic system memcakup konsep bangunan, simetri, pengulangan, ragam hias bangunan dan gapura. Berdasarkan aspek aspek tersebut ditemukan bahwasanya keempat masjid memiliki kesamaan karakter arsitekturnya. Akulturasi budaya Hindu dan Islam memberikan pengaruh yang cukup besar dalam pembentukan karakter Masjid Pathok Negoro. Kesesuaian budaya dan nilai dalam agama Hindu dan Islam dengan karakter masyarakat Jawa menjadikan kedua budaya tersebut masuk dan dapat diterima dengan baik. Pengaruh akulturasi budaya Hindu dan Islam dalam karakter arsitektur Masjid Pathok Negoro mempengaruhi dasar pembentukan fisik, nilai dan makna dalam arsitektur masjid yang terbentuk.

Pathok Negoro Mosque is a mosque that has the privilege of being masjid kagungan dalem of Sultanate of Yogyakarta. As a traditional Javanese mosque, the Pathok Negoro Mosque has an architectural character like other traditional Javanese mosques. All of Pathok Negoro Mosques have similarities and differences that form a special architectural character for these mosques. Cultural acculturation has a role in shaping the architectural character of the Pathok Negoro Mosque based on the history of cultural acculturation that occurred on Java Island especially Javanese, Hindu and Islamic cultures. This study aims to explore the architectural character of the Pathok Negoro Mosque based on the comparison of spatial, physical and stylistic aspects of each mosque. In addition, this study also aims to explore how far the acculturation of Javanese, Hindu and Islamic cultures affects architectural character of the Pathok Negoro Mosque. The method used in this research is qualitative with inductive reasoning. The data was obtained from a field survey in each object then studied with the literature on the architectural character and acculturation of Javanese, Hindu and Islamic cultures. Based on the results of this study, it was concluded that the architectural character of the Pathok Negoro Mosque was formed based on aspects of the spatial, physical and stylistic system which includes zoning, axis, orientation, floor plan and hierarchy of space. The physical system aspect includes the pattern of building elements. Aspects of the stylistic system include the concept of building, symmetry, repetition, decoration of buildings and gates. Based on these aspects, it was found that the four mosques have the same architectural character. The acculturation of Hindu and Islamic cultures has had a considerable influence in shaping the character of the Pathok Negoro Mosque. The compatibility of culture and values in Hinduism and Islam with the character of Javanese society makes both cultures be well received. The influence of acculturation of Hindu and Islamic culture in the architectural character of the Pathok Negoro Mosque affects the basic physical formation, values and meanings in the architecture of the mosque that is formed.
