KONFLIK SOSIAL DALAM PENYELUNDUPAN ORANG-ORANG PALESTINA KE LUAR PERBATASAN DALAM NOVEL RIJALUN FI ASY-SYAMSI KARYA GASSAN KANAFANI: ANALISIS SOSIOLOGI SASTRA

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan konflik sosial yang terdapat dalam novel Rijalun fi Asy-Syamsi karya Gassan Kanafani. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori sosiologi sastra dengan konsep konflik sosial Dean G. Pruitt dan Jeffrey Z. Rubin. Konflik sosial yang dianalisis adalah wujud konflik sosial, sumber konflik sosial, proses eskalasi konflik sosial, dan strategi penyelesaian konflik sosial. Berdasarkan analisis yang dilakukan dapat diketahui bahwa terdapat empat wujud konflik sosial, yaitu penghinaan, ketegangan, perdebatan, dan kekerasan fisik. Wujud konflik tersebut lengkap beserta sumber, proses eskalasi, dan strategi penyelesaian konfliknya. Terdapat dua wujud konflik penghinaan, yaitu penghinaan paman As'ad kepada As'ad dan penghinaan teman-teman Abu Khaizuran kepada Abu Khaizuran. Terdapat empat wujud konflik ketegangan, yaitu Sa'ad bersitegang dengan Abu Qais, Abu Qais bersitegang dengan Pria Gemuk, Marwan bersitegang dengan Zakariyya, dan Abu Khaizuran bersitegang dengan Abu Baqir. Terdapat satu wujud konflik berdebat, yaitu Abu Khaizuran berdebat dengan tiga penyelundup. Terdapat satu wujud konflik kekerasan fisik, yaitu pria gemuk menampar Marwan. Alur cerita dan konflik yang terjadi di dalam novel merupakan penggambaran nyata dari penderitaan warga Palestina yang harus meninggalkan kampung halamannya dan tinggal di kamp-kamp pengungsian di negara lain setelah Perang Arab-Israel pada tahun 1948. Mereka yang ingin memperbaiki keadaan harus hijrah ke negara makmur seperti Kuwait dan melalui cara penyelundupan karena keterbatasan ekonomi.

This research aims to reveal social conflict depicted in Gassan Kanafani's Rijalun fi Asy-Syamsi novel. This research used sociology of literature theory with Dean G. Pruitt and Jeffrey Z. Rubin's concept of social conflict. Social conflict analyzed in this study is the form of social conflict, source of social conflict, escalation process of social conflict, and settlement strategy of social conflict. Based on the analysis, it can be seen that there are four forms of social conflict, namely humiliation, tension, debate, and physical violence. The forms of the conflict are complete along with the source, escalation process, and settlement strategy of the conflict. There are two forms of humiliation conflict, namely As'ad's uncle's insult to As'ad and the insults from Abu Khaizuran's friends to Abu Khaizuran. There are four forms of tension conflict, namely Sa'ad's tension with Abu Qais, Abu Qais' tension with the head of the smuggling office, Marwan's tension with Zakariyya, and Abu Khaizuran's tension with Abu Baqir. There is one form of debate conflict, namely Abu Khaizuran's argument with the three smugglers. There is one form of physical violence conflict, namely the head of the smuggler office's physical slap to Marwan. The storyline and conflicts that occurred in the novel accurately depict the suffering of Palestinians who had to leave their hometowns and live in refugee camps in other countries after the Arab-Israeli War in 1948. Those who wanted to improve their situation had to emigrate to affluent countries like Kuwait through smuggling due to economic constraints.
