Pemanfaatan Relief Candi Borobudur untuk Konsep Penataan Kawasan Cagar Budaya Borobudur

Penelitian ini merupakan suatu upaya mengemas relief Candi Borobudur agar lebih bermanfaat bagi masyarakat dan kawasan Borobudur. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penggambaran pada relief Candi Borobudur yang berhubungan dengan kawasan serta mengetahui potensi relief Candi Borobudur tersebut sebagai inspirasi untuk penataan Kawasan Borobudur. Penelitian ini didasari oleh pemikiran bahwa relief Candi Borobudur mencerminkan kehidupan masa lalu yang unsur-unsurnya masih dapat dimanfaatkan di masa kini dan mendatang. Untuk mewujudkan hal itu, unsur-unsur relief candi tersebut perlu dikemas agar dapat dirasakan kembali nilai-nilai pentingnya oleh masyarakat secara nyata, sehingga kesinambungan nilai-nilai penting Candi Borobudur akan terus terjaga. Dalam penelitian ini, unsur yang dimaksud adalah elemen lanskap pada relief candi Borobudur yang dapat digunakan untuk penyusunan konsep penataan Kawasan Candi Borobudur. Penelitian ini dimulai dengan mengumpulkan data foto, terutama foto lama, relief Candi Borobudur. Data relief yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah relief Karmawibhangga, Lalitavistara, dan Jataka-Avadana (b). Analisis kualitatif dilakukan untuk mencari elemen-elemen yang berhubungan dengan lanskap. Identifikasi dan pengelompokan data dengan menggunakan bantuan software adobe photoshop dan atlas.ti. Hasil identifikasi dan analisis digunakan untuk konsep penataan lanskap Kawasan Borobudur, khususnya di koridor antara Palbapang dan Candi Borobudur. Dari hasil penelitian, diperoleh enam elemen lanskap yang terdapat pada relief Karmawibhangga, Lalitavistara, dan Jataka-Avadana (b), yaitu elemen tanaman, bangunan, gapura, bangku/tempat duduk, pagar, dan elemen tiang lampu/tempat obor. Elemen lanskap tersebut dapat menjadi rujukan dalam penataan Kawasan Borobudur. Dengan demikian, Kawasan Borobudur akan memiliki suasana yang khas (sense of place) yang memberikan pengalaman wisata budaya berkualitas sekaligus melestarikan citra lingkungannya sebagai kawasan pedesaan.

This study is an attempt to represent Borobudur reliefs value for landscape arrangement of Borobudur Heritage Area through which the value of Borobudur world heritage could be more beneficial for the community as well as the region of Borobudur. The aims of this study are to identify landscape elements depicted on the Borobudur Temple reliefs and to find out the potential of the reliefs for inspiring the rearrangement of the Borobudur landscape. This research is based on the idea that the reliefs of Borobudur Temple reflect the past life whose elements can still be utilized in the present and the future. To put these in to effect, the relevant aspects of the temple reliefs need to represent in a new package so that the community could valued the significance of Borobudur as their heritage and would be maintained properly. The focus of this study is on the landscape elements depicted on the Borobudur relief which are assumed to potentially provide inspiration to be used for drafting the concept of landscape rearrangement of the Borobudur Heritage Area. This research begins by collecting photographic data of Borobudur reliefs, especially the old ones. The data used are the relief of Karmawibhangga, Lalitavistara, and Jataka-Avadana reliefs (b). Qualitative analysis was conducted to find elements related to landscape. Identification and grouping of data using Adobe Photoshop and Atlas.ti software. The results of identification and analysis are used for drafting the concept of the rearrangement of the Borobudur landscape, especially along the corridor of Palbapang and the main temple of Borobudur. From the results of the study, six elements of the landscape found in the reliefs of Karmawibhangga, Lalitavistara, and Jataka-Avadana (b), namely plants, buildings, gates, benches/seats, fences, and elements of lampposts/torches. These landscape elements can be a reference in landscape rearrangement within the Borobudur Heritage Area. Thus, the Borobudur area will have a distinctive atmosphere creating sense of place that provides a quality cultural tourism experience while preserving its environment as a rural area.
