Reproduksi Kelas Sosial pada Komunitas Sepeda Onthel Podjok

Olahraga sepeda saat ini telah mulai berkembang dan diminati oleh masyarakat umum. Kini tidak sedikit orang yang memandang aktivitas bersepeda telah dianggap sebagai olahraga yang populer dan berkelas. Fenomena tersebut dibarengi dengan munculnya berbagai komunitas sepeda di beberapa kota besar. Hal tersebut juga berdampak pada penentuan status sosial yang ditentukan dari peralatan dan perlengkapan sepeda maupun komunitas sepeda yang diikuti. Berdasarkan fenomena yang sedang marak terjadi tersebut, penelitian ini ingin membahas mengenai proses reproduksi kelas sosial yang terjadi di dalam komunitas Paguyuban Onthel Djogjakarta (Podjok). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menggambarkan proses reproduksi kelas sosial yang terjadi di dalam komunitas Paguyuban Onthel Djogjakrta. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kulaitatif dengan teori distingsi dan masyrakat konsumsi sebagai pisau anilisis. Berdasarkan hasil penelitaian, diketahui bahwa dalam komunitas Podjok kita dapat melihat proses reproduksi kelas sosial dalam skala antar individu didalam komunitas maupun komunitas Podjok sendiri didalam ranah antar komunitas sepeda lain di Yogyakarta. Walau terdapat perbedaan skala namun terdapat kesamaan proses reproduksi kelas sosial yaitu melalui pertarungan capital yang dimiliki dalam sebuah ranah tertentu. Dengan begitu kehadiran komunitas Podjok dalam proses reproduksi kelas sosial ini menjadi sangan penting karna mempunyai fungsi sebagai arena atau ranah untuk mempertarungkan berbagai capital yang dimiliki oleh anggotanya. Selain itu Podjok sebagai sebuah komunitas juga memiliki peran sebagai alat untuk menyatukan berbagai modal yang dimiliki oleh setiap anggotanya kemudian digunakan untuk menunjukan eksistensi komunitas sepeda onthel diantara komunitas sepeda lainnya di Yogyakarta.

Cycling has now begun to develop and is in demand by the general public. Now many people see cycling as a popular and classy sport. This phenomenon was accompanied by the emergence of various bicycle communities in several big cities. This also has an impact on determining social status which is determined from bicycle equipment and supplies as well as the bicycle community that is followed. Based on the phenomenon that is currently happening, this study wants to discuss the process of social class reproduction that occurs in the community of Paguyuban Onthel Djogjakarta (Podjok). The purpose of this study is to describe the process of reproduction of social class that occurs in the community of Paguyuban Onthel Djogjakrta. This study uses a qualitative research method with the theory of distinction and consumption society as an analytical knife. Based on the results of the research, it is known that in the Podjok community we can see the process of reproducing social class on a scale between individuals within the community and the Podjok community itself in the realm of other bicycle communities in Yogyakarta. Although there are differences in scale, there are similarities in the process of social class reproduction, namely through the struggle for capital owned in a certain realm. In this way, the presence of the Podjok community in the process of reproducing this social class becomes very important because it has a function as an arena or realm to battle the various capitals owned by its members. In addition, Podjok as a community also has a role as a tool to unite the various capitals owned by each member which is then used to show the existence of the onthel bicycle community among other bicycle communities in Yogyakarta.
