Zine Black Metal Istiqomah merupakan bentuk media alternatif seni yang mengusung tema identitas hibrid black metal dan Islam dalam konsep karya-karyanya. Tujuan penelitian ini menjelaskan siasat zine Black Metal Istiqomah mengkonstruksi dua identitas yang saling bersebrangan. Penelitian dianalisis secara tektual menggunakan teori semiotika Roland Barthes untuk memahami desain karya dan bentuk visual zine Black Metal Istiqomah. Bentuk visual karya kemudian dianalisis secara kontekstual menggunakan teori hibriditas Jan Piterse untuk mengungkap proses negosiasi identitas black metal dan identitas Islam. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan zine Black Metal Istiqomah mengalami proses negosiasi pada bentuk visual karya, berupa penyederhanaan beberapa simbol identitas secara visual. Identitas black metal pada zine berperan sebagai tanda visual karya sedangkan identitas Islam berperan pada bagian konten cerita. Pada akhirnya zine Black Metal Istiqomah merupakan bentuk penggabungan identitas yang berhasil menciptakan identitas kekaryaan dan secara tidak langsung menciptakan bentuk identitas baru Black Metal Istiqomah di kalangan penggemarnya.

Black Metal Istiqomah zine is a form of alternative media art that carries a hybrid identity of black metal and Islam as the concept of his works. The purpose of this research is to explain the strategy of the Black Metal Istiqomah zine in construct two opposing identities. The research was analyzed intellectually using Roland Barthes' semiotic theory to understand the work design and visual form of the Black Metal Istiqomah zine. The visual form of the work is then analyzed contextually using Jan Piterse's hybridity theory to reveal the negotiation process of black metal identity and Islamic identity. The results of this study indicate that the Black Metal Istiqomah zine have a negotiation process in the visual form of the work, in the form of a visual simplification of several identity symbols. Black metal identity in the zine acts as a visual sign of the work while Islamic identity plays a role in the content of the story. In the end, the Black Metal Istiqomah zine is a form of combination of identities that creates a new identity Black Metal Istiqomah.
