Tugas Akhir yang berjudul Perancangan Klasifikasi Arsip Substantif di Project Implementation Unit Universitas Gadjah Mada membahas mengenai proses perancangan klasifikasi arsip substantif di Project Implementation Unit Universitas Gadjah Mada. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengelolaan arsip dinamis, proses merancang klasifikasi arsip substantif serta kendala dalam proses tersebut. Penyusunan Tugas Akhir ini menggunakan tiga metode, yaitu: metode observasi partisipatif, wawancara, serta studi pustaka. Metode observasi partisipatif merupakan metode pengumpulan data dengan cara mengamati dan ikut berperan langsung dalam proses perancangan klasifikasi arsip substantif. Wawancara merupakan kegiatan tanya jawab antara penulis dengan pegawai untuk melengkapi data yang dibutuhkan. Studi pustaka yaitu teknik pengumpulan data dengan studi penelitian terhadap buku, jurnal dan literatur lainnya terkait perancangan klasifikasi arsip substantif. Kesimpulan dari Tugas Akhir ini adalah pengelolaan arsip dinamis meliputi jenis arsip, volume arsip, kondisi arsip, sistem pengelolaan serta sarana dan prasarana. Perancangan klasifikasi arsip substantif dilakukan dengan tahapan analisis fungsi organisasi, penyusunan klasifikasi arsip, dan pemberian kode klasifikasi. Kendala yang menghambat kelancaran perancangan klasifikasi arsip substantif diantaranya kurangnya kompetensi SDM di bidang kearsipan, kurangnya kesadaran staf akan kelengkapan arsip, serta belum terbentuknya sistem yang baik.

This research by the title Designing The Substantive Records Classification in Project Implementation Unit of Universitas Gadjah Mada discusses about process of designing the substantive records classification at Project Implementation Unit of Universitas Gadjah Mada. Its aim is to find out the records management, the process in designing the substantive records classification and its obstacles. The arrangement of this research uses 3 methods as participant observation, interview, and library research. Participant observation is data collection method through observation and direct involvement in the process of designing the substantive records classification. Interview is question and answer activities between researcher and employee for completing the required data. Library research is data collection method by observation on books, journal, and other literature related to designing the substantive records classification. The conclusion of this research is records management involved type of records, volume of records, condition of records, records management system and the tools. Designing the substantive records classification performed by the function of organization analysis, arrangement of records classification, and classification coding. Some obstacles preventing continuity of designing the substantive records classification are lack of human resources competence on records, lack of consciousness of the employee on records competences and the right system haven’t formed yet.
