Pertumbuhan ekonomi suatu negara membutuhkan dukungan ketersediaan energi termasuk kecukupan pasokan energi listrik. Energi listrik bukan saja dibutuhkan untuk konsumsi seperti rumah tangga tetapi juga untuk kegiatan produktif seperti bisnis dan industri. PT Indonesia Power sebagai anak perusahaan PT PLN (Persero) diberi tanggung jawab untuk menjamin ketersediaan pasokan listrik di bidang operasi dan pemeliharaan pembangkit listrik. PLTU masih dominan sebagai pembangkit tenaga listrik dengan kontribusi energi sekitar 64,4% di sistim Jawa Bali. Kapasitas pembangkit PLTU yang besar menjadi sumber penopang keandalan sistim. Pola operasi base load dan biaya operasional berupa harga bahan bakar yang lebih murah, sehingga PLTU disebut tulang punggung pembangkit. Program SOLID yang diterapkan PT PLN dalam mengelola anak perusahaan mengharapkan adanya cost efficiency sebagai sumber value creation. Hal ini akan menjadi sumber keunggulan bersaing perusahaan. Identifikasi cost driver pada kegiatan pemeliharaan overhaul pembangkit PLTU akan membantu identifikasi faktor yang utama biaya pokok produksi (BPP) listrik untuk mempertahankan cost leadership perusahaan.

The economic growth of a country in need of support availability of sufficient supply of energy including electricity. Electrical energy is not only necessary for consumption as households but also for productive activities such as business and industry. PT Indonesia Power as a subsidiary of PT PLN (Persero) was given the responsibility to ensure the availability of electricity supply in the field of operation and maintenance of power plants. Still the dominant power plant to generate electricity with the energy contribution of about 64.4% in the Java-Bali system. Power plant generating capacity up to be a source of support the reliability of the system. The pattern of base load operation and operating costs such as fuel prices are much cheaper, so-called backbone power plant generators. SOLID program applied by PT PLN in managing subsidiary companies expect their cost efficiency as a source of value creation. This will be a source of competitive advantage of the company. Identification of cost drivers on generator power plant overhaul maintenance activities will help identify the main factors that production costs (BPP) of electricity to maintain the company's cost leadership
