Tulisan ini membahas usaha Forum Film Dokumenter dalam membangun komunitas bersama melalui film dokumenter. Praktik-praktik ini ditempuh melalui perjuangan membangun ruang menonton yang bebas sehingga penonton dapat menumbuhkan kembali pengalamannya melalui mediasi film dokumenter. Dalam hal ini, Forum sedang berpolitik membangun sejarah baru ditengah-tengah masyarakat (yang terus berubah) secara terorganisir. Di dalam ruang menonton yang bebas ini terjadi pertukaran wacana visual sehingga tulisan ini akan mencermati visualitas yang terlahir sebagai proses hidup berkomunitas.

This paper discusses the work of the Forum Film Dokumenter in an effort to build a community through documentary films. These practices are pursued through the struggle to make free screening room for the documentary film. Through the film screening room, the audience can re-grow their experience through documentary film mediation. In this case, Forum Film Dokumenter conducts political action by making screening space in the midst of society. In the end, this paper will look at the visuality that is born as a process of community life
