SUSPENSE DALAM NOVEL AYAH KARYA ANDREA HIRATA: KAJIAN ALUR MENURUT ROBERT STANTON

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis novel Ayah karya Andrea Hirata. Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah alur, termasuk alur berdasarkan urutan penceritaan, suspense serta konflik, dan hubungan antarunsur. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif analisis dengan mendeskripsikan data dalam teks kemudian dilanjutkan dengan analisis untuk mendapatkan penjelasan mengenai permasalahan alur yang terdapat pada novel Ayah. Teori yang digunakan untuk menjawab permasalahan penelitian adalah teori struktural Robert Stanton. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa alur pada novel Ayah adalah maju regresi yang menyebabkan penundaan alur. Konflik yang terus dihadirkan, adanya pergantian nama tokoh atau naming, cerita yang berselang-selang antara dua tokoh yang berbeda, dan surprise pada bagian akhir membuat novel Ayah memiliki suspense yang tinggi.

The purpose of this research was to analyze the novel Ayah of Andrea Hirata. The problem in this research is the plot, including plot based on the order of storytelling, suspenseand conflict, and unity. This research use descriptive analysis by describing the data in the text and then proceed with the analysis to get an explanation of the plot problems contained in the novel Ayah. The theory used to answer the problems of this research is the structural theory of Robert Stanton. The result of this study indicated that the plot on the novel Ayah is forward regression that causes the delay of the plot. The conflict continues to be presented, the change of the name of the character or naming, the intermittent story between two different figures, and surprise at the end of the novel make novel Ayah has a high suspense.
