NOVEL DIVERGENT SEBAGAI PROSEDUR KEBENARAN: SUBJEKTIFASI VERONICA ROTH DALAM PERSPEKTIF ALAIN BADIOU

Penelitian ini mengungkapkan prosedur kebenaran di dalam novel Divergent karya Veronica Roth, yang merupakan bagian dari peristiwa (event) atau jejak sejarah dan menjadi salah satu faktor kehadiran sebuah subjek baru. Adapun penelitian ini akan menjawab dua pertanyaan: 1) Bagaimana subjektifasi Veronica Roth melalui novel Divergent sebagai sebuah prosedur kebenaran?; 2) Mengapa subjektifasi Veronica Roth menghasilkan novel Divergent sebagai subjek baru? Penelaahan dengan menggunakan teori himpunan yang dicetuskan oleh Alain Badiou. Teori himpunan menjelaskan bahwa di dalam suatu himpunan terdapat anggota "yang Ada" atau Being dan peristiwa beserta situs peristiwa sebagai anggota "yang Jamak". Teori himpunan Alain Badiou kemudian membedah Veronica Roth sebagai presentasi "yang Ada" dan Race Riots 1919 sebagai presentasi "yang Jamak". Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa proses subjektifasi Roth dan peristiwa Race Riots 1919 menghasilkan karya sastra: Divergent. Hal ini terjadi karena terdapat hubungan positif antara diri pengarang dan peristiwa sekaligus penamaan atas peristiwa. Tidak hanya itu, Roth sebagai subjek melakukan sebuah kesetiaan (fidelity) terhadap apa yang dia yakini sebagai sebuah kebenaran. Prosedur kebenaran atau situs peristiwa-yang berasal dari peristiwa Race Riots 1919-berupa kerusuhan antar ras kulit hitam dan kulit putih dalam merebut ruang spasial di kota Chicago. Kebenaran lain adalah tidak banyak warga yang mengetahui bahwa para ilmuwan telah mengembangkan reaksi nuklir pertama sebagai senjata selama proses kerusuhan ras tersebut berlangsung. Roth kemudian mengejawantahkannya ke dalam novel Divergent-nya. Melalui hal inilah kita dapat mengetahui kategori presentasi seorang Roth sebagai subjek baru yang yakin, reaktif, dan kabur.

This study revealed the truth procedures in Veronica Roth's novel Divergent, which was part of an event and was a factor in the presence of a new subject. The research would answer two questions: 1) How was the subjectivation of Veronica Roth in Divergent novel as truth procedures?; 2) why was the subjectivation of Veronica Roth producing Divergent novel as a new subject? This study used the set theory by Alain Badiou. The set theory explained that within a set there were members of "Existing" or Being and events as "Plural" members. Alain Badiou's set theory then dissected Veronica Roth as an "Existing" presentation and Race Riots 1919 as a "Plural" presentation. The results proved that the subjectivation between Roth and Race Riots 1919 events produced literary works: Divergent. This happened because there was a positive relationship between the author and the event as well as naming the event. Not only as the subject but also do a fidelity to what she believed to be a truth. The truth procedures or "the void" originating from the 1919 Race Riots event is a riot between blacks and whites to seize spatial space in the city of Chicago. Another truth was that not many people knew scientists have developed the first nuclear reaction as a weapon during the process of racial unrest. Roth subsequently embodied it into her Divergent novel. By those presences, we could know the category of Roth's presentation as a new subject such as faithful, reactive, and obscure.
