Tugas akhir ini berjudul Upaya Peningkatan Kompetensi Karyawan Sales and Marketing Department Di Montigo Resort Nongsa Batam. dibuat untuk dapat memberikan informasi mengenai standar kualitas kompetensi kerja karyawan di Montigo Resort Nongsa, selain itu juga untuk melihat upaya apa saja yang dilakuan oleh Human Resources Department Montigo Resort guna meningkatkan potensi diri karyawan di Montigo Resort yang nantinya diharapkan dapat menunjang kinerja karyawan. Data yang digunakan dalam penyusunan tugas akhir ini merupakan data primer yang diperoleh dari hasil wawancara dan observasi partisipatif, dimana penulis secara langsung ikut bepartisipasi dalam kegiatan Sales and Marketing Department, kemudian digunakan juga data sekunder berupa beberapa arsip-arsip paparan yang ada yang didapatkan dari Human Resources Department selain itu didapatkan pula dari berbagai referensi buku maupun skripsi lainnya. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penyusuna Tugas Akhir ini yakni melalui wawancara, observasi partisipatif dan studi pustaka. Kesimpulan dari Tugas Akhir ini adalah : 1) Pentingnya kompetensi karyawan di Montigo resort guna meningkatkan kerjasama antar departmen dan menciptakan lingkungan kerja yang kondusif 2) Berbagai macam kegiatan pelatihan yang dilakukan oleh Human Resource Department untuk menunjang kemampuan dan potensi dari karyawan yang berkeja di Montigo Resort

This final research entitled Efforts to Increase Competence of Employees of Sales and Marketing Department At Montigo Resort Nongsa Batam. was made to be able to provide information about employee competency quality standards at Montigo Resort Nongsa, but also to see what efforts are done by Human Resources Department Montigo Resort in order to increase the potential of employees at Montigo Resort which will be expected to support employee performance. The data used in the preparation of this research is the primary data obtained from interviews and participant observation, where the author directly participate in the activities of Sales and Marketing Department, then used also secondary data in the form of some existing exposure archives obtained from Human Resources Department other than that obtained also from various reference books and other theses. Data collection methods used in this Final Dictionary is through interviews, participatory observation and literature study. The conclusions of this Final Project are: 1) The importance of employee competence in Montigo resort in order to increase cooperation among departments and create a conducive working environment 2) Various training activities conducted by the Human Resource Department to support the capabilities and potentials of employees working in Montigo Resort
