Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menjabarkan struktur cerita novel dan serial drama televisi, bentuk-bentuk transformasi, serta fungsi-fungsi dari transformasi yang terjadi dalam proses pemindahan cerita dari novel Nazotoki wa Dinner no Ato de (selanjutnya akan disingkat NDA) ke dalam serial drama televisi dengan judul yang sama. Proses pemindahan cerita dari novel ke dalam film disebut ekranisasi. Begitu pula kisah novel yang diangkat ke dalam sebuah serial drama televisi dapat disebut juga sebagai proses ekranisasi. Hal ini karena drama televisi (sinetron) juga membutuhkan skenario karena penyusunan drama televisi sama dengan penyusunan film. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah ekranisasi. Pertama-tama, dilakukan analisis terhadap alur dan penokohan dalam novel dan serial drama televisi NDA. Selanjutnya, dilakukan analisis ekranisasi untuk mengetahui bentuk-bentuk dan fungsi-fungsi transformasi yang terjadi pada proses pemindahan cerita novel ke dalam serial drama televisi NDA. Kesimpulan yang didapat dari penelitian ini adalah (1) terdapat perbedaan pada struktur cerita novel dan serial drama televisi NDA yang mencakup unsur alur dan penokohan. (2) Transformasi berupa pengurangan, penambahan, dan perubahan bervariasi adegan terjadi karena adanya perbedaan sistem novel dan serial drama televisi. (3) Transformasi juga terjadi karena adanya faktor kesengajaan dari tim produksi serial drama televisi NDA. (4) Transformasi yang terjadi berfungsi untuk menunjang pemasaran serial drama televisi, menonjolkan unsur humor, membangkitkan suspense, memperjelas suasana investigasi dan TKP pembunuhan, serta untuk memperjelas akhir cerita dalam serial drama televisi NDA.

This research attempts to describe the structure of the story in novel Nazotoki wa Dinner no Ato de (NDA) and the story in the television drama adaptation. Besides, this research also attemps to describe the function of the transformation from the novel into television drama adaptation. The process of adaptation from the novel into film is called ecranization. In this research, television drama is counted as film because a scenario is needed in the production of television drama as in film. This research uses the theory of ecranization. Ecranization analysis is used to analize the form and the function of the transformation from the novel into television drama adaptation. The result of this research shows that (1) there are some differences in plot and characters in the structure of the story between the novel and the television drama adaptation. (2) There are some transformations such as omission, extention, and changes in variation of the scene or character which are happened because the differences of the system between the novel and the television drama adaptation. (3) Some transformations also happened because the production team of the television drama did it on purpose. (4) The transformation happened to support the marketing of television drama adaptation, to highlight the humor sense, to bring up the suspense, to make the nuance of the investigation and the scene of the crime more real, and to make the end of the story in the television drama adaptation more clear.
