Faktor Faktor Pengaruh Elemen Elemen Kawasan Terhadap Kualitas Visual Tugu Pal Putih Yogyakarta

Tugu Pal Putih merupakan salah satu elemen penting pembentuk karakter dan aktivitas dalam kawasan. Seiring berkembangnya kawasan, keberadaan elemen elemen kawasan semakin mempengaruhi kualitas visual Tugu Pal Putih sebagai landmark kota Yogyakarta, jika hal ini terus dibiarkan eksistensi serta nilai estetis Tugu Yogyakarta semakin lama akan semakin terlupakan oleh hadirnya elemen elemen kawasan. Dampak yang ditimbulkan oleh dominasi keberadaan elemen - elemen di kawasan Tugu ialah menurunnya nilai estetis Tugu Pal Putih sebagai landmark kota dan bangun bangunan cagar budaya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan faktor faktor pengaruh elemen elemen kawasan terhadap kualitas visual Tugu Pal Putih untuk kemudian memberikan arahan penataan elemen elemen kawasan yang dapat meningkatkan kualitas visual Tugu Pal Putih maupun kawasan sekitar. Metode yang akan digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deduktif kualitatif. Metode deduktif yaitu metode penelitian berdasarkan teori yang telah ada sebelumnya memilki unsur logis, teoritir dan etis. Langkah awal penelitian yaitu observasi ke lapangan kemudian menggunakan skala Semantic Differential diperkuat lagi dengan meotode pengukuran statistik SPSS uji validitas dan realibilitas terhadap masing masing pertanyaan kuisoner. Berdasarkan hasil kajian tersebut didapatkan temuan dasar bahwa elemen elemen kawasan yang dominan mengganggu kualitas Tugu Pal Putih ialah bangunan, instalasi listrik serta iklan luar ruang. Setelah permasalahan kualitas visual Tugu ditemukan, kajian mengenai kualitas visual Tugu diaplikasikan kedalam konsep arahan desain yang menjadi dasar pedoman untuk meningkatkan kualitas visual Tugu Pal Putih.

The Pal Putih monument is one of the crucial element in forming characters and activities in the area. As the development of the area, the existence of urban elements are increasingly influencing the visual quality of Pal Putih Monument as a landmark of Yogyakarta city, if this matter allowed to continue, the existence of Pal Putih Monument will increasingly forgotten by the presence of the urban elements. Another impact caused by the dominance of the existence of elements in the monument area is the decrease of aesthetic value of Pal Putih Monument as a city landmark and heritage building. This research aims to find the influence factors of the urban elements toward the visual quality of Pal Putih Monument and then provide structuring direction for the urban elements that can increase the visual quality of Pal Putih Monument and the surrounding area. The method used in this research is a qualitative deductive method. Deductive method is a method of research based on pre-existing theories that have been there before and have logical, theoretical and ethical elements. The initial steps of research is by doing observation to the field and then using the Semantic Differential Scale reinforced with SPSS statistical measurement method for test of validity and reliability on each question in questionnaire. Based on these research results, there are some basic finding that the urban elements which dominantly disrupt the quality of Pal Putih Monument are buildings, electrical installation as well as outdoor advertisements. After visual quality problems of the Monument are found, the research concerning visual quality of the Monument applied to the direction design concept on which become the basic guidelines to enhance the visual quality of Pal Putih Monument.
