NOVEL BADAI SAMPAI SORE KARYA MOTINGGO BUSYE: ANALISIS TOKOH DAN PENOKOHAN

Permasalahan pokok dalam penelitian ini ialah tokoh dan penokohan dalam novel Badai Sampai Sore karya Motinggo Busye. Pemilihan novel Badai Sampai Sore sebagai objek material penelitian ini didasarkan pada unsur tokoh yang menonjol dibandingkan dengan unsur yang lain. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah metode deskriptif analitik. Penelitian ini memperoleh hasil sebagai berikut. Pertama, tokoh novel Badai Sampai Sore terbagi menjadi dua berdasarkan peran dan pentingnya tokoh, yaitu tokoh utama dan tokoh bawahan, yang diklasifikasi lagi menjadi dua bagian, yaitu tokoh bawahan utama dan tokoh bawahan tambahan. Tokoh utama dalam novel Badai Sampai Sore adalah Dat dan Sunarto. Tokoh bawahan utama yang terungkap adalah Salmun, Suparni, dan Eni. Kedua, motivasi tokoh terbagi menjadi dua, yaitu motivasi dasar dan motivasi spesifik. Motivasi dasar tokoh utama dan tokoh bawahan saling berkaitan satu sama lain, sedangkan motivasi spesifik tokoh utama dan tokoh bawahan melengkapi motivasi dasar mereka. Ketiga, novel Badai Sampai Sore memiliki hubungan antartokoh dan antarunsur. Unsur-unsur lain yang berhubungan dengan unsur tokoh adalah unsur alur, latar, tema, dan judul novel.

The main issue in this research is the characters and characterizations in the novel Badai Sampai Sore Motinggo Busye‟s works. The selection of Badai Sampai Sore as material object research based on the elements of a character that stands out from the other elements. The method used in this research is descriptive analytic. This study obtained the following results. First, the characters of the novel Badai Sampai Sore are devided into two based on the role and importance of the character, namely main character and additional character, which are devide more into two, namely the main additional character and side additional character. The main characters in the novel Badai Sampai Sore are Dat and Sunarto. The main additional character that revealed are Salmun, Suparni, and Eni. Second, character‟s motivation are divided into two, namely basic motivation and special motivation. The basic motivations of the main character are related to one another, while the specific motivation of the main character and the subordinate character complement their basic motivation. Third, novel Badai Sampai Sore has relationship between characters and between elements. Other elements related to the characters are the elements of the plot, setting, theme, and title of the novel.
