STRATEGI DEFOKALISASI PADA NARASI NOVEL LELAKI HARIMAU KARYA EKA KURNIAWAN

Dongeng merupakan bagian dari kesustraan lisan yang artinya termasuk ke dalam sastra Indonesia. Salah satu karya sastra Indonesia yang mengandung dongeng adalah novel Lelaki Harimau oleh Eka Kurniawan. Dongeng dekat kaitannya dengan realisme magis yang dapat dilihat melalui lima karakteristik, yaitu irreducible element, the phenomenal world, unsettling doubts, merging realms, dan disruption of time, space, and identity. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah melihat realisme magis pada novel Lelaki Harimau dengan menggunakan pendekatan defokalisasi. Defokalisasi merupakan sebuah cara untuk menemukan kadar sebuah karya sastra apakah karya tersebut memuat realisme magis atau tidak. Defokalisasi melihat jalan lain untuk menentukan karya realisme magis melaui perspektif narator. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah adanya beberapa bentuk defokalisasi yang ditemukan pada novel Lelaki Harimau yang saling memengaruhi satu sama lain. Bentuk-bentuk defokalisasi tersebut adalah peralihan fokalisasi, ambiguitas narator dan tokoh, ironi romantik, hierarki sudut pandang, dan kolektivitas.

Fairy tales are part of oral literature which means that it is included in Indonesian literary works. One of Indonesian literary works that contain a fairy tale is Eka Kurniawan's Lelaki Harimau novel. Fairy tales are closely related to magical realism that can be seen through five characteristics, consisting of the irreducible element, the phenomenal world, unsettling doubts, merging realms, and disruption of time, space, and identity. The objective of this study is to look at the magical realism in the Lelaki Harimau novel by using a defocalization approach. Defocalization is a method to find the level of a literary work whether it contains magical realism or not. Defocalization sees another way to determine the work of magical realism through the narrators perspective. The results of this study show that there are several forms of defocalization found in the Lelaki Harimau novel that influence each other. These forms of defocalization are transitional focalization, ambiguity of the narrator and the characters, romantic irony, hierarchy of viewpoints, and collectivity.
