NEGOSIASI KEKUASAAN DALAM NOVEL VENDREDI OU LES LIMBES DU PACIFIQUE KARYA MICHEL TOURNIER

Skripsi ini membahas permasalahan kekuasaan dan negosiasi terhadap kekuasaan dalam novel Vendredi ou les limbes du Pacifique karya Michel Tournier. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengungkap relasi kekuasaan dan bentuk-bentuk negosiasi yang terjadi antara dua tokoh utama novel ini, yaitu Robinson dan Vendredi. Penulis menggunakan teori kekuasaan dan perlawanan dari Michel Foucault. Jaringan sosial antar kedua tokoh tersebut menciptakan relasi kekuasaan. Kekuasaan lahir dari pengetahuan, dan pengetahuan melahirkan kembali kekuasaan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, kekuasaan menjelma menjadi alat normalisasi dan regulasi. Kekuasaan sebagai alat normalisasi tampak dalam wacana identitas seperti pemberian nama, bahasa, ras dan warna kulit. Sebagai regulasi, kekuasaan tampak dalam wujud negara atau aparatur negara yang menciptakan undang-undang, hukuman, dan pekerjaan. Selanjutnya, penelitian ini menemukan negosiasi yang terjadi di dalam ranah identitas dan pekerjaan. Dalam ranah identitas, negosiasi ditemukan bersinggungan dengan budaya dan hadir dalam bentuk pengetahuan. Kemudian dalam ranah pekerjaan, negosiasi tampak dalam bentuk perlawanan.

This undergraduate thesis discusses about power and negotiation of the power in the novel entitled Vendredi ou les limbes du Pacifique by Michel Tournier. The purpose of this study is to reveal the power relations and forms of negotiations that took place between the two main characters of the novel, Robinson and Vendredi. The author uses Michel Foucault theory of power and resistance. The social relation between the two characters creates power relations. That the power is produce knowledge and the knowledge reproduce power. Based on the results of this research, the relation between the two characters in the novel shows that the power transformed into a tool of normalization and regulation. Power as a tool of normalization appears in the discourse of identity, such as naming, languages, races and skin color. As a regulation, power appears in the form of a state or state apparatus that creates laws, punishments and jobs. Furthermore, this research finds negotiations that occur in the realm of identity and work. In the realm of identity, negotiations are found intersect with culture and present in the form of knowledge. Then in the realm of work, negotiations appear in the form of resistance.
