DISEMINASI ARSIP SENI RUPA DI INDONESIAN VISUAL ART ARCHIVE (IVAA)

Tugas akhir ini mendiskusikan tentang program-program yang dilakukan oleh Indonesian Visual Art Archive (IVAA), sebuah lembaga pengarsipan seni independen, dalam mendiseminasikan arsip-arsip seni yang dimilikinya. Beberapa contoh kegiatannya adalah: pameran arsip, penerbitan buku, pembuatan e-newsletter, dan lain sebagainya. Terdapat tiga metode pengambilan data yang digunakan penulis dalam menyusun Tugas Akhir ini. Pertama, observasi partisipatif, yaitu penulis melaksanakan observasi dengan cara terlibat langsung dalam program magang di IVAA. Kedua, wawancara yang dilakukan dengan melangsungkan interview dengan staff IVAA. Ketiga, studi pustaka, yaitu mengumpulkan literature yang relevan seperti buku, jurnal, newsletter, katalog dan hasil seminar. Kesimpulan dari kajian ini yaitu IVAA menyimpan beberapa beberapa jenis arsip yang terkait dengan seni, seperti ephemera, audio visual, dan konvensional. Mayoritas arsip IVAA saat ini telah didigitisasi untuk kepentingan preservasi dan akses. Volume arsip paling banyak adalah arsip foto karya seni. selanjutnya, arsiparsip tersebut didiseminasikan melalui penerbitan buku, e-Newsletter dan katalog; pengadaan pameran dan konferensi; serta penyediaan akses arsip daring.

This final project discusses about the programs conducted by the Indonesian Visual Art Archive (IVAA), an independent art archiving institution, in disseminating the archives of Indonesian visual art. The purpose of this study is to know the type of dissemination program and to which extent this program can assist IVAA in popularizing the archives and the importance of art documentation. There are three data collections methods used in the Final Project. First, participative observation, that has been done by directly involved in apprenticeship program for two month at IVAA. Second, interviews that were conducted with asking some questions to the staff at IVAA. Third, the literature study, which collects relevant literature such as books, journals, newsletters, catalogs and seminar results. The conclusion of this study is that IVAA stores several types of archives related to the visual arts in the form of ephemera, audio visual, and conventional. The majority of IVAA archives today have been digitized for preservation and access purposes. The most archive volume is the photograph archive. Furthermore, the archives are disseminated through the publication of books, e-newsletters and catalogs; creation of exhibitions and conferences; and the provision of online archive access.
