Press dies adalah salah satu cetakan yang digunakan pada mesin press untuk memproduksi sheet metal product, diantaranya press part mobil yaitu wheel house inner Vios atau Yaris. Pada press dies terdapat dua komponen yang selalu mengalami kontak tegangan yang mengakibatkan hasil dari produk press part rawan cacat. Cacat merupakan penyimpangan kualitas suatu produk yang tidak diinginkan dalam dunia industri. Karena itu setiap proses produksi di dalamnya harus dapat menghasilkan produk yang memiliki kualifikasi sesuai standar yang telah ditetapkan guna memenuhi kepuasan pelanggan. PT. Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia Karawang Plant mempunyai masalah cacat press part pada part wheel house inner Vios atau Yaris di mesin press line production. Cacat tersebut adalah ware atau pecah. Karena cacat ware tidak bisa diperbaiki, maka cacat ini tidak bisa ditoleransi. Perbaikan ini bertujuan untuk memperbaiki dan menganalisis. Permasalahan terdapat pada proses pembentukan (drawing), kemudian penelitian dilakukan pada die drawing wheel house inner Vios atau Yaris. Untuk analisis perhitungan menggunakan teori-teori sheet metal forming. Sehingga perhitungan pembentukan wheel house inner Vios atau Yaris dapat dihitung dan diperbaiki. Setelah ware problem (pecah) dapat diperbaiki, perusahaan mendapatkan dampak positif dari perbaikan yang dilakukan. Dapat dilihat dari safety, productivity dan quality mengalami peningkatan, serta cost yang dikeluarkan perusahaan menjadi menurun, sehingga proses produksi dapat berjalan dengan baik.

Press dies is one of the molds used in press machine to manufacturing sheet metal products, such as car parts, namely is a wheel house inner Vios or Yaris part. At the press dies, there are two components that are always in contact, resulting in part are vulnerable defects of press products. Defects are irregularities quality of a product which is not desirable in the industrial world. Hence every production process must be able to produce products that have qualified according to meet customer satisfaction. PT. Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia Karawang Plant has a problem press part defect on wheel house inner Vios or Yaris part. The defect is a ware or rupture, defects ware can't be repaired, so this defect can't be tolerated. This improvement to improve and analyze the defect. The problem laying in the process of forming (drawing process), then analyze do on the drawing die wheel house inner Vios or Yaris. For the analysis calculations using the theories of sheet metal forming, so that the calculation of the drawing process wheel house inner Vios or Yaris part can be calculating and defect can repaired. After ware problem (rupture) can be repaired, the company gets the positive impact of the improvement, can be seen from the safety, productivity and quality has increased, as well as the cost incurred company to decrease. So that production process can work well.
