PERAN PRE-SERVICE TRAINING TERHADAP PEMBENTUKAN PROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOR DI AKADEMI KEBIDANAN

Latar Belakang: Jumlah perguruan tinggi swasta mengalami peningkatan di Indonesia. Orientasi perguruan tinggi pada politik ekonomi memberikan dampak rendahnya kualitas para lulusan. Hal ini akan berpengaruh pada pelayanan yang diberikan dan secara tidak langsung berdampak pada lemahnya sistem kesehatan. Tingginya angka kematian ibu pada data SDKI 2012 sebesar 359 per 100 000 per kelahiran hidup merupakan penurunan indikator kesehatan. Dalam upaya penguatan sistem kesehatan, maka percepatan dan perbaikan indikator harus dilaksanakan. Perbaikan sumber daya manusia kesehatan merupakan salah satu upaya penguatan sistem kesehatan. Pendidikan merupakan garda depan untuk memperbaikinya, pre-service training pada saat pendidikan melalui pengalaman praktik klinik kebidanan yang terdapat beberapa pengalaman sosial yang terjadi didalamnya mampu membentuk professional behavior mahasiswa. Hal ini mampu meningkatkan profesional bidan dalam bekerja. Tujuan: Mengetahui peran pre-service training melalui pengalaman praktik klinik kebidanan yang mampu mendukung proses pembentukkan professional behavior pada pribadi mahasiswa akademi kebidanan. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metodologi kualitatif. Data diperoleh dari 12 mahasiswa semester enam yang pernah melakukan praktik klinik kebidanan dan penanggung jawab program serta studi dokumen. Hasil: Penelitian menunjukan proses pembelajaran praktik klinik yang memberikan dukungan terbatas pada profesionalisme. Peran clinical instructor belum maksimal terlihat. Staf berperan penting dalam proses pembelajaran praktik klinik kebidanan, staf memberikan bimbingan dan dukungan kepada mahasiswa untuk mendapatkan pengalaman praktik klinik. Mereka mampu memberi ruang konsultasi kepada mahasiswa kapanpun mereka butuhkan. Namun, masih terdapat staf yang kurang memberikan dukungan bagi mahasiswa. Performa akademik yang diukur dengan kualitas pribadi mahasiswa masih terlihat rendah, dan evaluasi skill belum dilaksanakan dengan baik oleh pihak akademi setelah proses praktik klinik. Kesimpulan: Peran staf yang lebih banyak membimbing dan mendukung proses pembelajaran praktik nampaknya harus didukung dengan adanya continuing education untuk menambah perfoma di lapangan menjadi lebih baik. Hal ini mampu didukung dengan proses seleksi calon mahasiswa yang dipersiapkan dengan matang oleh pihak akademi dan pelaksanaan evaluasi skill setelah praktik oleh pihak akademi.

Background: The number of private universities has increased in Indonesia. College orientation on economic policy impacts the low quality of graduates. This may influence their service and indirectly give impact on the weak of health system. The high number on mother�s death based on the data from SDKI 2012 reach 359 per living birth shows the decrease on health indicator. In order to reinforce the health system, the improvement and acceleration on health indicator should be taken. The improvement on Human Resource who take care on health is one effort in reinforcing health system. The education is the avant garde of reinforcement, pre-service training during the study through practical midwifery clinic experience including some social experiences effective to bulid the student�s professional behavior. This may incerase the professionalism of midwife in their works. Objective: To know the role of pre-service training through midwifery clinic practice experince to support the professional behavior building process on the student of midwifery academy. Methods: This research use a qualitative methodology. The data were taken from 12 students on six semester who have taken practic class on midwifery clinic and in charge on the program and also documents study. Result: The research describes the studying process on practical clinic which give limited support to the profesionalism. Clinical instructor has not acted as a good mentor for students. The role of the staff is very important in midwifery clinic paractice learning process. The staff give supervision and support to the student in gaining the clinic practical experiences. They gives consultation space to the student whenever they need. However, there are staffs who have less support to this program. The academic performance measured from the students� personal quality is still low, and the skill evaluation has not taken properly yet by the academic caretaker affter the clinic practice process. Conclusion: This research shows the activity that give still limited support to the professional development. The support to the staff need to be improved to maximise their roles, continuing education is one way to make their better performance. This is supproted by well preparation on the recruiting process of the students and the practical skill evaluation by the academic caretaker.
