Tugas akhir ini merupakan terjemahan dari cerita anak yang berjudul Shinobi Yorukage dari buku Kimochi ga Ukiukisuru Hanashikarya Etsuhiro Hamano. Selain itu juga dilakukan tinjauan terhadap padanan kata giongo dalam bahasa Indonesia. Cerita Shinobi Yorukage menceritakan pengalaman misterius seorang anak bernama Mamoru saat malam hari. Pengalaman misterius itu terkait dengan masa lalunya. Setiap malam hari, pintu kamar Mamoru terbuka dengan sendirinya. Dalam cerita Shinobi Yorukage terdapat bagian-bagian kisah yang dapat mendorong pembaca untuk berpikir imajinatif. Kisah dalam cerita yang dapat membuat pembaca untuk berpikir imajinatif khususnya anak-anak inilah yang membuat penulis tertarik untuk menerjemahkan cerita tersebut. Metode yang digunakan untuk menerjemahkan cerita adalah metode komunikatif. Metode komunikatif adalah metode yang berusaha mempertahankan makna kontekstual bahasa sumber baik isi maupun bahasanya.Metode ini dipilih karena terjemahan Shinobi Yorukage ditujukan untuk anak-anak. Oleh karena itu metode komunikatif ini paling efektif digunakan karena isi dan bahasanya mudah dipahami oleh pembaca. Selain penerjemahan, dalam tugas akhir dibahas tentang padanan kata giongo yang terdapat dalam cerita Shinobi Yorukage dalam bahasa Indonesia. Bagi orang Indonesia dalam belajar bahasa Jepang, giongo merupakan salah satu kosakata yang menarik. Padanan kata giongo dalam bahasa Indonesia sedikit, sehingga akan menjadi salah satu kendala bagi orang yang belajar bahasa Jepang. Dalam meninjau padanan kata giongo dalam bahasa Indonesia, penulis mengacu pada kamus Usage Guide to Japanese Onomatopoeiasserta melihat pada konteks kalimat.

This final project is based on the translation of the childrens story entitled Shinobi Yorukage in the book of Kimochi ga Ukiukisuru Hanashi which is composed by Etsuhiro Hamano. Besides translating the story, the writer of this final project also conducted a review of giongo synonym in Indonesian. Shinobi Yorukage story tells about a mysterious experience of a boy named Mamoru at night. The experience is related to his past. Every night, the door of Mamoru bedroom is opened itself. In the story of Shinobi Yorukage, there are some parts which encourage the readers to think imaginatively. Therefore, this reason attracts the writer of this final project to translate the story. The method which is used by the writer of this final project is communicative method. Communicative method is a method which is hold contextual meaning of source language (SL) in both its contents and language. The writer of final project choose this kind of method because the translation of Shinobi Yorukage story is addressed to the children. Therefore, communicative method is considered as the most effective method to be used because the content and language of the translation can be easily understood by the reader. Besides translating the story, this final project also discussed about giongo synonym which is contained in Shinobi Yorukage story in Indonesian version. For Indonesian people who learn Japanese, giongo is one of interesting vocabulary. Giongo synonym in Indonesian has small amount. As the result, it will be one of the obstancles for people who learning Japanese. In reviewing the giongo synonym in Indonesian, the writer of this final project refers to the Usage Guide to Japanese Onomatopoeiasdictionary and look at the context of the sentence.
