Abnormalitas Tokoh-Tokoh dalam Novel Pasung Jiwa Karya Okky Madasari: Analisis Psikologi Sastra

Teori psikologi sastra yang digunakan dalam penelitian sastra bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan aspek-aspek kejiwaan di dalam karya sastra. Meskipun bersifat imajiner, tokoh dalam karya sastra juga diciptakan seperti halnya manusia dalam kehidupan nyata. Hal ini karena pada dasarnya karya sastra lahir berdasarkan pengalaman kejiwaan pengarang dari dunia nyata. Penelitian terhadap novel Pasung Jiwa ini menggunakan teori psikologi sastra karena permasalahan yang paling dominan dalam novel tersebut adalah permasalahan psikologis. Teori psikologi sastra digunakan untuk mengetahui keadaan kejiwaan tokoh-tokoh dalam novel Pasung Jiwa. Tokoh-tokoh dalam Pasung Jiwa diceritakan memiliki gangguan jiwa dan perilaku yang abnormal. Abnormalitas yang dialami oleh tokoh-tokoh dalam novel Pasung Jiwa adalah perilaku transgender sebagai bentuk gangguan identitas gender, persepsi yang salah tentang lingkungan sebagai bentuk gangguan skizofrenia, dan mengingat kembali kejadian traumatis yang pernah dialaminya sebagai bentuk gangguan stres pascatrauma, tindakan bunuh diri, tindakan perkosaan sadistik, perilaku menghindari hubungan sosial sebagai bentuk gangguan kepribadian skizoid, dan prostitusi. Selain untuk mengindentifikasi jenis gangguan jiwa dan perilaku abnormal yang dialami tokoh-tokoh dalam novel Pasung Jiwa, penelitian ini juga berusaha mencari penyebab abnormalitas yang dialami oleh tokoh-tokoh dalam novel Pasung Jiwa. Penyebab abnormalitas tersebut dapat berasal dari dalam dan luar individu. Faktor eksternal penyebab gangguan jiwa dan perilaku abnormal dalam novel Pasung Jiwa, misalnya hubungan yang patogenik antara orang tua dengan anak, kejadian traumatis yang pernah dialami pada masa kanak-kanak, kondisi sosial yang tidak menguntungkan. Dari segi internal berdasarkan teori kepribadian Freud yang diterapkan dalam novel Pasung Jiwa diperoleh hasil bahwa semua gangguan jiwa dan perilaku abnormal yang dialami oleh tokoh-tokohnya dikarenakan dominasi dari id. Ego tidak mampu menyeimbangkan tuntutan-tuntutan yang saling bertentangan antara id dan superego. Akhirnya Ego dan superego mengalami kekalahan.

Theory of psychology which is used in this literature research aims to reveal the psychological aspects in the literary works. Despite of its imaginary disposition, the characters in this literary works were created so much human-like in real life since the literary works basically were born by author's psychological experiences in the real world. The theory used on this research on Pasung Jiwa is theory of psychology because the major problem in the novel is psychological problem. Psychological theory is used to determine the mental state of the characters. The characters were described having mental disorders and abnormal behavior. Abnormalities that were experienced by the characters in Pasung Jiwa are: transgender behaviour as the result of gender identity disorder, the wrong perceivement on the vicinity due to schizophrenia disorder, recollection of the traumatic event in the past as post-traumatic stress disorder, suicidal attempt, sadistic rape, behaviour on avoiding social relationship as schizoid personality disorder, and prostitution Other than to identify the types of mental disorders and abnormal behaviors experienced by the characters, the purpose of this research is to find the cause of the abnormalities. The cause of the abnormality could derive from the internal and external factor. External factors that caused mental disorders and abnormal behavior in Pasung Jiwa, for example are pathogenic relationship between parents and children, traumatic events in childhood, and unfavorable social conditions such as poverty and discrimination. For the internal factors, according to Freud's theory of personality that was applied to the novel, it was concluded that all of the mental disorders and abnormal behavior which were experienced by the characters were caused by the domination of id. Ego couldn't balance the opposite demand between id and superego and eventually ego and superego suffered defeat.
